Shimazu Tadashige and Meiji??

Greetings -- this is my first post among what looks to be a fascinating and diverse group of folks and interests.
I am pulling together a book of letters -- my granddad visited Japan in 1908, and had a lot to say to his mother. One comment he made was that his host for a luncheon party in October that year, Shimazu Tadashige, a young Naval officer or midshipman, was to marry one of Meiji's daughters -- I assume it would have been either Toshiko or Nobuko. Her mother I presume was gon no tenji Sono Sachiko. Does anyone know if that happened, and if so which one?
There are numerous other questions I would like to explore.

The luncheon party might be held at the house of Shimazu then, and it is currently Seisen University.
Fortunately, the house could escape from the war damage in WWII.

Shimazu Tadashige and Meiji

Thanks much to Pipokun and to Hiroyuki Nagashima. Your responses were very helpful, and sent me off in several directions to follow up. I have learned many things, inclluding a rudimentary grasp of the Japanese version of Wikipedia, how to write kanji in email, etc. Of course I speak and read absolutely no Japanese, but I have enough grasp of Chinese to get a lot out of it.
I found photos of the buildings that were commissioned by Shimazu Tadashige for his estate in Tokyo, which became Seisen University.
Apparently Tadashige wrote a book entitled Rohen Nankoku-ki -- can someone supply the title in Japanese, and try a translation of the title for me?
