I just saw Pink's video "Stupid Girls" and I think it's hilarious! :D

But the message is clear, Pink hits it right on the nail. In American society today young girls only role models only seem to be young women who are famous for being......well dumb. She uses Paris Hilton, Mary-Kate Olsen, Lindsey Lohan, and Jessica Simpson as exmaples. This video wasn't really intended to make fun of them I don't think, but it's still funny!

and great song too! i watched&listened zillion times! pink rules!
👍 👍 👍

This sounds good. I'll check it out on the PC at the uni, this one here at the house, often fails me. Thanks for turning us on to that one Ma chan....

To me, it looks a lot like it was intended that way.
What I don't understand: What's so much more intelligent in playing football than being a cheerleader? Reading books didn't occur to Pink? :(

I think playing football is more of an issue of ambition. Even though she was making fun of Paris Hilton and the rest, it's still funny. :giggle:

Yeah, that was funny. Meanwhile, Paris, Jessica, Lindsay and the Olsen twins are laughing all the way to the bank, given how filthy rich they are. And who's to say they're dumb? For all we know, that's just an act for the public and they're all smarter than we thought. I'm just cynical enough to think that's the case.

flashjeff, you are right, but i thing is what kind of message they are sending to young girls? (i think, especially young American girls, it seems to me they always look up for some role models).. so they are saying.. it is good or cool to be stupid? i don't think so.

It was funny! I liked it a lot although I didn't recognize most of the references used in the video, it still had a clear message.

I just read an article on what Pink had said about this video. And from what she said there's other meanings behind it, like mass consumerism. I think some people have misunderstood this video to a large degree. I've been reading blogs and to some, Pink is just making fun of people because of her own shortcomings.

Of course it's not good. It's just as bad for boys who worship the ground professional athletes walk on, despite their all too obvious flaws. By the way, Pink's a homegirl----yep, she hails from Philly!
👍

I think its even worse there acting.. thats just pathetic... And I'm sure some of them are just acting dumb.
