Request: Japanese proverb translation into kanji or plain Japanese

Hello!

I need a translation for a good and serious reason.I have drinking problems, and would like to have a Japanese quote that I found on the web tattooed or made into a pendant or something as a reminder. The problem is I can't find it written in Japanese, despite that it's origin is Japanese.

The saying is:
"First the man takes a drink; then the drink takes a drink; then the drink takes the man"

I can't tattoo it in English because i wouldn't want everyone to see about my problem. I'd prefer if I could get it in kanji, since it may be shorter and better looking, but if it's too hard, plain Japanese would also be useful.

I actually don't like tattoos, but if you think it will help you fix your drinking problem, I'd say it's for a worthy cause.
