Region 2 DVD

Most Jrock DVDs are Region 2 since they are from Japan, with the exception of a select few that are all region. I was curious as to how fans from the USA and Canada watch these. I have considered getting a multi-region DVD player or getting DVD Region X for PS2. Does anyone use either of these, and what are your recommendations?

I'm guessing there are available multi-regional players on the net. That's all I know really, because mostly I download the stuff i listen to.

umm well if you are looking to buy one...heres a link. I have this exact same dvd player and it plays my Malice Mizer concert on it! and it plays alot of other formats like DVD, VCD, CD, DTS-CD, CD-G, CD-TEXT, PictureCD, MP3, SVCD, HDCD, CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, and DVD+R/RW. i hope this helps. and before i got the dvd player i just watched it on my computer

Of course, rather than buy a new player, try to see if yours is listed here.

A simple code entered using your remote can make it a region-free player. I used this on my LG home theater system, and it's awesome! I can play DVDs from anywhere

I got my multi-regional DVD player from amazon at a very cheap price. Good for watching any Japanese and Asian films that I get from HK and the US. I am also starting to find more and more DVDs I order from abroad are region 0.

This'll sound funny, but get a really cheap-@$$ DVD player. It costs money to encode regions so the cheaper DVD players tend to not have 'em.

I have a region free dvd player that I bought over in japan and I like it alot, but I also have a region 2 and region 1 dvd players. They all work really well and their the cheaper dvd players, but about the dvd player it's your own personal choice on what one you want.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and help! I'd really hate to buy another DVD player since I already own two! I guess if it was cheap it wouldn't matter, though. Playing them on my computer wouldn't be so bad since I have a 20" screen, but it's just not the same as a big screen TV!

We could always get that program to load on our PS2 or Xbox that allows it to play all regions. That might end up being cheaper (and take up less room than getting another DVD player)
