Really old obscure SNES game

Hi there, I figure this is a long shot but here we go..

I've been trying to track down an old famicom game I used to play while in Japan.
It was probably released between 1990-1992.

Part of it involved colleting lots of maneki neko.

So, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Was it ganbarre goemon? Not having much access to Japanese games, it may not be, but I remember this game on the SNES and N64 (also called legend of the mystic ninja , or some other variation) had you collect the cats as health.

jaja, I also think it is from Ganbare Goemon game series. Those maneko are embraced to the coins which are used by goemon and his friends when they use special skills. Funny games ^o^
