Of course if you do that you will not soon, if ever, encounter words like "interplanetary exchange."OH SNAP! Is it better to just avoid learning words in isolation, and just focus on learning them in the context of what they're a part of? I'm reading the Super Metroid manual.

Because I learned "enough." I should know all the contents of that textbook series (which only takes you up to level 4). I speak Japanese every day at home and often at work. I'm not super happy with my reading capability but it's more than enough to get by, especially these days with all the electronic help we have.
