Ramen vs. Instant Ramen

Hey I'm doing a research paper for my Japanese Pop Culture class. I just was wondering:
1. What's the first thing you think of when someone says 'Let's go get ramen'?
2. For Americans, what was your earliest interactions with ramen?
3. For people of all other countries, what is ramen to you?
4. What's your favorite flavor of ramen?
5. Is ramen the same as instant ramen?
Please help me get some numbers for my research and also please tell me your nationality along with your answers. Please, please, please, with a cherry on top.

2. I had never heard of ramen before I came to Japan. My first ramen was at a yatai (roadside stand) in Tokyo in the middle of the night when the guy I was in the truck with stopped there to eat.

4. Miso chashu, hold the negi, side of gyoza, han -rice.

5. Dear God, no. You have my sympathy for even needing to ask that. Is the lightning bug the same as the lightning?

Hi, I'm from the UK:
1. There aren't many Japanese restaurants near me, but they do big bowls of ramen at a chain called Wagamama. I also make ramen at home.
3. A big delicious meal! I'm vegetarian so: a big bowl of veg stock with udon or soba noodles, vegetables and tofu or a boiled egg.
4. Vegetable ramen, with tofu.
5. No! Completely different!

2. For Americans, what was your earliest interactions with ramen? - Not a Yank but first learned of Ramen from the film Tampopo .... and had my first wonderful taste when I came to Japn a couple of years later.
3. For people of all other countries, what is ramen to you? - My must have lunch on a big hangover day, and a top comfort food at any time.
4. What's your favorite flavor of ramen? - Currently Stamina Chashu.
5. Is ramen the same as instant ramen? - Ramen is like a night of luurv with a Costa Rican go go dancer, instant ramen is like a fumbling wank - with the same amount of guilt!

I don't need it for myself it's just to get opinions for my paper. I, of course, know the difference. You'd be surprised how many people don't know the difference.
