Quick help with phrase

How would I say.... "I hope so!"

I just sent my penpal (who's in Arizona atm) an e-mail .. and one of the questions I asked was "Do you like watching movies?" because we're going to see a movie on sunday.. and I want to say.. "Do you like watching movies? I hope so!"

えいがをみることがすきですか。

Is that part right at least?

（Name)さんはえいがをみたいか？
（So'n'So） would you like to see a movie?
Or Do you want to see a movie.
Unless your just curious if movie watching is something that appeals to this person.

"I hope so" is translated in different ways, depending on context. In this case, you are hoping that the person is interested in movies. So, I would say:

えいが、すきですか？(This is in effect the short form of the one in the original post)

すきだったら、いいんですが。 (You would say this if you are hoping to ask the person to a movie or give the person a gift related to movies, such as DVD, a movie ticket, etc.)

そうだったら、いいですね！(You are hoping that the person shares the same hobby.)

There are other variations depending on context.

How about adding "dato iina" or "dato iindakedo" etc.

Being an "obasan" that I am, I am very reluctant to say そうだといいっすね is correct, even when restricted to speech by a young boy. Situations when such an expression can be used is quite limited (and only between men).

Buntaro-san! I need your help, too! I'm not always confident of my answers! There are issues that some native speakers know well and other issues others know better, right? Korekaramo-yoroshiku!

Yes, sumo wrestlers have used that style traditionally(?)--at least for as long as I have known sumo.

These days, young men speak like that, even to older men and women, which I personally don't like. (The obasan in me saying 「今頃の若いモンは！！！」）
