Yay Drain Away, I really want to see your picture, they sound really interesting and creative! I wish I could do creative stuff... I'm not very happy with my work now. But anyway, I post some here even though I don't like them... .... I am sorry if the sizing is funny btw, I forgot what works. :sorry:








Still *cheers up*, I am going to work on a couple of oil paintings soon, I think I am going to paint Kozi, I have something of good idea for it now.

Very good pictures, Kinsao. Specially like the lower part of the last one and the topper part ov the fisrt one. I like the way you use the materials.
And furan, I really like the idea with Nao, you should do a finished version of it. I love it when there is an idea behind the picture.

and Kinsao.... it'll sound naff... but i really like your style... water colour or tempo? either way, it kinda works for the image and the way you're draw him... so me likis ^.^

Thank you everyone for writing nice comments. I wasn't so happy with these paintings. although I quite liked the face of the first one........ and I liked the colours of his top, but that was accidental (It's all black biro and watercolours btw, except the first one which uses some acrylics for the tights and background.)

Well, *cough* I want your expert advices! I am planning for 2 oils paintings. I know for the first one, I am going to do portrait from the below painting (just the face part):

The colours look to me so luscious for oils painting!

But, I can't choose for the second painting! :? (in fact, there is a gorgeous live I must do, but I need to use bigger canvas for it! These are only small canvas - I forgot the size exactly, somewhere slightly larger than A3.)

I thought of these below picture, but I can't choose! What do you think?



They really have to be portraity things because of the small size of the canvas. Sooo........

i think the second one of those three... but.... not the whole body.... cut it off somewhere below the arms.... i think it has the best 'portrait' composition....
and the colours are amazing
 
I'm inclined to agree with you about the composition.
The colours are so... Although I tend to alter colours anyway - make them brighter and such... I like high contrast stuff.....

Anyway I could always try the others at some other time (erm, like, when I'm 80 and retired...... )
 
Yea but get a medium that makes oil paint dry faster and mix it with it... unless you like to mess things up cause it take 9 years to dry. :sorry:

Ummm... the second one. It would be my choice since it is the most interesting and the quality is fairly good so details are easier to see.

and just so you have an idea how big it is, it's one meter across at the top. it looks really bad now because it's nowhere near finished, so please bare with me. i am having fun with it, though. right now he looks scary and possesed...

Hey that looks good Drain Away! Bet it's so cool when finished! I loooooooove working on big paintings.

Hehe - I use some drying agent in oils, but not too much, cos I don't like it to dry too quick. When I said I'd be 80 I meant that's how long it'll take me to get my *** in gear to actually do the painting - not the drying time of the present ones!

Well I didn't even see that 80 years part. I'm just saying I never really took to oils cause they take so damn long to dry.

I'm gonna probably do it just like too... I like the composition... and the crow.

I just gotta find a place that sells illustration board... it's like the only thing my stupid work doesn't sell.

heh, and i chose that pic Kinsao, well awear of you 'maximising contrast' technique, and thought that one would be the best to work that way too ^.^

and pkk.... that picture.... is gunna be AWSOME! it's about time you got drawing your onii... i mean... i draw mine all the time i don;t even need refference pictures any more

Kinsao: to be honest...i really didn't notice. i am so crap at perspective stuff like that, i was just like 'ooh, arm...'

furan: yeah, but notice how i strayed a little bit to the details... i'm so scatter-brained, i always set out to do the big things first, and then i use all the paint and am too lazy to mix more because what if i can't get the color right omg i'm gonna die okay i'll just paint everything that's black that doesn't take mixing erm lazyness... yep, that about sums it up...

i should paint my oniisan, i really should. i've found some gorgeous pictures of him, too... my oniisan is so pretty! *pets shun*

First one looks like Akiya from Kagrra, maybe that's who it is. :?

Dragon Head is 3 of Kagrra,'s members. Akiya is one of them. :?
