Please verify my sentence translation

チープ・トリックのレコードのライナーノーツを英語に訳してみています。 この和文は難しいですが、いい線を行くことと思います。もし間違っていたら、教えてくださいませんか。おねがいします。 / I'm attempting to translate into English some album liner notes from a Japanese tour by Cheap Trick (anyone remember them?!) This particular sentence was difficult for me, but I think I'm on the right track. However, could you please let me know if I'm way off anywhere? OK, here's the sentence:

リックに続いて、バニーのドラムがズドン、ズドンとずっしりとしたリズムを刻み、とどめの一撃を放つごとくロビンが「ハロー・ゼア、レディス＆ジェントルメン！」とシャウトする。

これはたぶん意味だと思います： / I took this to mean something like:

Following Rick, Bun E. chisels out the rhythm made by the heavy 'boom boom' of his drums, and Robin, as if striking the final blow, shouts, "Hello there, ladies & gentlemen!"

This looks basically correct. Although you might keep more of the English flow with verbs like "carves out"/"cuts" or "strikes" a rhythm with the heavy banging/boom of his drum just as 放つ could also be "fires the final blow" "lets loose with the final blow" etc but these are just semantic quibbles in the end. 大体完璧です。

外国語が上達する秘けつのことですが、
２年間ほど独学した後、いろいろな家庭教師の連絡を
保ち始めました。せっかく覚えた日本語も使わない
と、どんどん忘れていくのでなるべくメールのやり取りもしましょうね。
日本人の友達ともゆっくり時間を過ごす機会があれば、一番いいと思いますね。
