I lived in Japan from 1999-2002 and I made some really good friends.

I have lost contact with my best friend from Yokosuka. I use to have his
Do Co Mo phone number but it no longer works. I have been trying to contact him for about a year. I wonder what the the best way to locate him is. I have paid for web searches and got no matches. If anyone knows a better way please help!!

thankyou.

I know many people like you in other forums, but it is my first time to see a person that hire an agent. So I want to do whatever I can think of.

I use to have his Do Co Mo phone number but it no longer works.
What do you mean? Which one does not work, your phone/his number?

I think you'll search in vain unless you know one or more of the following - his high school, university/college; family house address; line of work (company name etc.). Was he an eikaiwa student? If so where did he study? Did he routinely 'hang out' with gaijin? And by 'Yokosuka' do you mean you were stationed at the base?

My friends phone number no longer works and his DoCoMo email does not work any more.
Yes, was stationed in Yokosuka, My friend Jin Hayashibe was a bartender at a local bar there (G Mash) I believe was the name of it. I have his old address and I have given it, and his old phone number to a japanese agency on the link below:
www.anshin-r.com I am waiting for a reply.
as for what schools my friend went to I have no Idea.
thankyou for your replys

This the place http://www.dobuita-st.com/shop/mash.html ? If so, write to the manager - in Japanese would get you a more constructive reply I expect. Staff in such places change every month I guess. Managers might turn-over in a year or two, but I expect that the owner is the same. Just by virtue of the fact that the bar has the same name as it did 5/6 years ago I think you might get lucky. If you can convince someone to give you a family address for your friend - who knows?

Wow thanks Mr. sumo thats amazing!! its the same exact place I have riden in that Ferrari!!
