Our pilots are flying a small light sports aircraft around the world currently and the next stop will be Sapporo New Chitose Airport, Japan!
The Sling 4, is our newly-built prototype aircraft designed by The Airplane Factory in South Africa, and the pilots James Pitman and Jean de'Assonville decided to again fly our new aircraft around the world, just as we did in 2009 when we had built a small 2-seater aircraft.
For more news and also to send messages to the pilots welcoming them to Japan, please go to our website www[dot]airplanefactory[dot]co[dot]za . Updates will be done on the website as they come in, and the pilots will hopefully leave Taiwan Sunday morning the 21st of August early the morning to Japan, which should hopefully be a bit less than an 18hour flight for them.
If anyone is an avid aviation fan and want to assist anywhere, e.g. meet the guys at the airport just to say "hi", please let us know. As this is an unplanned adventure (meaning we have decided to do documentation, accommodation etc as we go along to keep the feeling of adventure going) any assistance or support will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
The Airplane Factory
