Osama Bin Laden: Dead

So doesn't it bother you that Osama bin Laden murdered Muslims, too? Like Thor said, even Muslims are celebrating his death.
It bothers us too much killing innocents,Muslims or Not.
but believe me it's a temporary reaction.

I am confused by a few things in this discussion, I hope someone can explain them to me.

First of all, I have heard much more mention of Bush than Obama. As Obama was the one who gave the order to raid the compound, why is there so much bitterness towards Bush. I assume it has to do with the many years of The US occupying the middle east under Bush's command, correct?

secondly, I have noticed that some members are upset that he is dead(more than just upset he was murdered) as though he was an important leader to all of the middle east. As I have lived in the United states my entire life, I have heard nothing but bad things about Osama, so can someone explain why he is so greatly respected(or at least appears to be) in the middle east.

As for burying him at sea, I do not see how this is disrespectful. I will admit that I am not familiar with Islamic funerals, but as no one has disagreed with her, I assume that a Muslim should be buried within a day of their death. So how is it disrespectful to bury his at sea, when they could have brought him back to the US where he probably would have never been buried.

NO ONE is going to make me feel bad that my government buried bin Laden with full Muslim honors and ceremony at sea. This is far more consideration for family members than bin Laden ever showed to his victims; most of the 9/11 victims' remains were never even recovered.

And incidentally, bin Laden, through his organization's many terrorist attacks, killed even more Muslims than Americans.

No country wanted his body. His home country, Saudi Arabia, refused to take it. So what were we supposed to do with him?

I can tell you some of the proposals I've heard from other Americans. Cut off his head and wave it around, the way al Qaida did to Daniel Pearl. Stuff and mount his body and hang it in a museum. Feed his corpse to hungry pigs.

But I'm glad we didn't do those things. I'm glad my country showed respect for Muslim sentiments in disposing of the body. It's important to send the message that we were not acting against Islam or Muslims; we were just eliminating a mass-murderer and threat to the security of many nations.

Lledargo, you have a very good point...i will reply soon..

Roland, i fully understand you and i agree with you about "family feeling" it's just a stupid excuse.

He killed thousands of people everywhere.

replying soon.

I would have preferred that bin Laden's body had been thrown in a pit full of pig feces and urine. But that's just me.

Now he's just fish and shark food.

@red flower;

Sinse you've been talking about "caring about his/his family's feelings", get this. Did Osama "care" for the feelings of the people he (helped) end? hell no. And did he think of the feelings of the people or there family members that DIES in 9/11, before, during, or even after? HELL NO...
If he didn't care about the feelings of thousands, why should ANYONE have to care about the feelings of a monster like him??!

Common sense dude(t)............

can't we understand his family's feeling ?
Is it very hard to think that a human being not only died but also couldn't have a decent funeral and a grave no matter how bad he was??
In Islamic rules It is not permitted to bury a dead one in a sea where you can bury them in a land
lands EVERYWHERE in Pakistan, what make them throw him in a sea...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hard
If you and me in a trip, and you died, would you like me to protect your body from animals not to eat you until we bury you with dignity even if you were the worst killer in the world?? at least we should do that for your family's sake and consider their feeling??
Americans are not the only human who have feeling ,, right??
Killing him was not enough , they messed with his body !!
WHERE IS THE MERCY AND JUSTICE

He's dead. He gives less than a **** about the manner of his burial. You first go on about the feelings of his family members and then about the decent treatment of a corpse. Well... there is no decent or indecent way to treat a corpse. The corpse will transform into a different aspect of nature no matter what you do. You can stick candles and Christmas lights in it or paint it yellow and pink with bright orange stars, it does not ******* matter.

If we were on a trip and I died I would want nothing because I wouldn't be animated enough to have deep and profound thoughts on the method of, rightly and justly, disposing of a corpse in accordance with the unquestionable dictates of the supreme arbiter of what is right and wrong in relation to the disposal of companions who died whilst partaking in greatly important albeit silly ******* trips. Now get real please. If you care for him so deeply, revive him, I'm sure he'd appreciate that afterward. Anything short of revival is unlikely, deeply or even superficially, to move him, for medical reasons.

No wondring some of you defend American Government, they have been killing people in Iraq and Afganistan for a very long time and even their own Soldiers by sending them there and let them die for nothing, but here, i am not talking about your government, or how bad is Osama Bin Laden, i am talking about the cruel way of burying a DEAD man without considering his family's feeling or friends or even his religion.

I do have a question, did the USA Government throw Timothy McVeigh or any criminal in the sea???
NO of course not

What makes your government do that CRUEL thing to his dead body, are they afraid of him that much so they want to insult him after his death.? maybe

burying a man in the sea is CRUEL even if i have disagreement with what he did

And by the way, i am not melodramatic, but some countries produced a lot of movies and drama and become obsessed of them, so they wanted to implement (apply) what they watch . and here we go, we watched a very very Tragically buried .

There are Japanese victims of 9.11 and not all their families seem to be happy about it.
Even after 10 years most of them cannot come to terms with their sudden and unreasonable loss.

A mother who lost her son wished he was captured alive.
"Many innocent people were killed (by 9.11) and I really wanted him (=Bin Ladin) to explain why he did such a thing and what he thought of human lives". She knew it was not realistic but she wanted him to be tried at a tribunal and make full explanation, and now he was killed and the chance to learn the truth is forever lost.
Others show concern that his death does not give it the end but cause more terrorism which means more victims.

You demonstrated perfectly that you did not consider the point I raised. I invite you, once again, to consider what I said above. Now, I am rather convinced that you are incapable of conceiving of a pluralistic world where your alleged moral absolutes are not rigidly imposed, which is why I would like to bring it to your attention that burial at sea is standard practice in many areas of life and it is accepted as a method of burial as good as any. Now, I care little for vacuous bullshit words such as 'respect', but you seem to give the idea much more credit. So, then, might I ask you, is it not disrespectful, towards the countless people who resort to burials at sea, strongly to imply that the method is inherently flawed and immoral? Don't you think there's a bit of a problem here? Even a contradiction maybe?

I'm not the nicest or the most respectful (whatever that may mean) member around, so I think you will not be shocked to find that I accuse you of spouting emotion-fueled nonsense, which you are quite clearly producing in great quantities.

This Martin Luther King, Jr. quote has gotten popular lately:

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

this is exactly how I feel about what happened.

For once I completely agree with RolandtheHeadless in his last post. I really don't know whether they had the option of taking him alive or not, and if they they did, then I disagree with the action taken. I think far more would've been gained from capturing him alive.

Wishing he were desecrated in some fashion as I've heard various people say on various forums, well that sounds just halfway childish somehow.

I'm pretty sure they had the option, as in it was a "kill or capture" mission, but as was suspected ahead of time by the people involved and as it actually turned out, he wasn't willing to let himself be captured. Or so I've heard it reported...

The story keeps changing, so I don't know what to believe.

Very long ago: Remember, Bin Laden was once ally of America. America trained Bin Laden and the Taliban to fight against Russia. ...

Life is never black and white only you know!!!

Yes,At least Americans should remember that Osama defended the U.S once,He fought for the free world and yes he made a mistake in 9/11 and other places,But still he protected the free world once in his life.

I wish i see a leader like him on the right way, faithful, honest, strong and brave....

If he walked the right way,Muslims will follow him but unfortunately he walked the wrong way.

then ,, surely you will be convinced with the TRUTH

I think you should look back on your posts and realize you haven't been neutral, unbiased, rational, or in control of your personal feelings.

surely you would say that, so I was not hoping for a compliment

and surely "again" if I don't have all these features, I wish I would have them, because I certainly like to know the TRUTH, thats why I was looking over and over again through all the replies and being neutral hoping to understand if Burial in this way was fair or not ,, but i was not convinced

Ahh, I love how people who support completely illogical positions, claim they simply want to discover "truth" as if it gives them some sort of added legitimacy... that's ignoring the fact they support a completely illogical positions.

Yeah I guess Osama was considering all the victims families and friends feelings, when he decided to launch the attacks on Washington, New York and London, and then celebrated these operations success. I guess he also had the potential victims families in mind when he sought nuclear and chemical weapons to use against the United States.

The US military did consider Islam when dealing with his body. First, which state would take his body back? KSA stripped his citizenship, and most others state considered him a fugitive and would not want the notoriety of having his grave. Instead of holding onto his body for days or weeks while they searched for someone to take it, they decided to drop him at sea after giving him the proper rites.

McVeigh was not the leader of a multinational terrorist organization without any citizenship.

Wha? Are you kidding me? You didn't even make a counter-argument against what I said and now you're giving me this condescending bullshit without anything to justify such condescension? You're arguing from a religious perspective and telling me to be neutral, unbiased and rational and not controlled by emotion? You might want to take your own advice, you know.
