New to Forum...Japanese drink related ?s

Hi, I am new, just registered actually today, I had a friend travel to Japan recently and he brought back some amazing things, one of which was Fanta Melon Soda...it was totally amazing, sadly for me being in the US it is impossible to find, local stores sell Sanagria, and Hata but it's not the same, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get any in the US without flying to Japan?
 
depending on where you are, there might be Japanese grocers that carry a variety of imported drinks. I live pretty close to one, although I haven't been there lately. If I go anytime soon I'll keep an eye out for that flavor.
 

Where in the US are you? Here is a page that lists Japanese grocery stores in the US. Contact some of the stores and see if they carry it / special order it for you / can ship it to you.

Sadly I have tried local stores, J-list and some other importers, they can't do orders like that, and some don't call back, I see one on ebay now but its almost $30 US for 1 bottle shipped that is most likely flat, my buddy is traveling back to Japan in July, but won't be able to bring back many...I am stuck with Sanagria for the time being
 
yup, it this thread is more so useless because i haven't got the slightest clue as to what part of the US you are in. however, i know that there are japanese stores across the nation. for the most part, i think that there are mainly localed on the west coast, but i have never been to the east coast so i can't vouch for it. however, you might want to try a don quijote if you have one around.

I live in Northern VA and I have searched the Japanese stores around me, usually I just call to see if they carry it, they don't I know H-Mart and Great Wall is another Asian Grocery store, they carry the already mentioned brands but not the Fanta, that is Japan only and not exported most likely due to Coke and regulations they have in place
 
hrmm... i guess that would make it harder to find your soda due to the coke regulations. if this is the case, then your state might not sell the cream soda altogether. you might have to just suck it up. i know the feeling though, as of recently, i can't find any cc lemon anywhere in our state. it sucks, but it's reality.

Ah, Thanx Ashikaga ! Maybe that's where my next Chu-hi Hyoketsu will come from, too. If only carbonated could be shipped.

Why Kirin hasn't made a launch into the US ready to drink market I have no idea...
