new member from north west Montana

I discovered this forum when I was searching the web for ways to serve broiled eel, which a friend brought from Japan. I never did get my answer from the web search but we ended up baking it for 5 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees and serving it over Cal Rose rice, which had been cooked in a rice cooker.
I first ate eel when I visited my daughter who was studying in Japan in UCLA's junior year abroad program. This was her second time there as a student.
I now live in northwest Montana and raise miniature longhair and miniature smooth and standard longhair dachshunds and black angus cattle.

Welcome to JREF !! I know that you can definitely keep up with all the cooking styles of Japanese food here in the 'All Things Japanese' forum, under the 'Japanese food and recipies' fora. How did the eel that you had prepared taste? Do you think it was anything like the one you had eaten here in Japan? I love eel, and eat it about twice a month or so--maybe a bit more in the summer.

Do you plan on coming back to Japan for a visit? I look forward to hearing more from you in the future !! See you 'round !! MM
