The romaji probably threw you off, but... not quite. This isn't the -ku form of the -tai form of suru, rather it's a noun (支度).
支度しないといけないから。 = "I have to get ready / prepare (for something), so..." (implying "I need to get going")
Just a note that you have "I want to do it, so..." in your translation, but if it were that, you'd have to have "shitai kara" (or something along those lines).
Yeah, vocabulary isn't my strong suit. That makes a lot more sense.

At first I had "I have to do what I want to do," and then I thought that I should have the "so" or "because" in there. I realized that I had to be careful where I put it, but I still put it in the wrong place. Of course, it would have been a lot easier if I had known the word 支度 in the first place. Oh well.
