Need Guidance about Japan University PLEASE!!!!

I studied in Japan till Primary 2 then went over to Singapore to continue studying until I graduated from pre-u (Total of 10 years in Singapore). I took Cambridge A'Level Examination which results will be out in coming March. My CITIZENSHIP IS JAPANESE. Now I'm thinking of going back to Japan(preferably public university in Tokyo) to continue with my university education. I am fluent in Chinese, English and Cantonese. I am able to read, write and speak basic Japanese. I came from a single parent family, where my father is a Japanese who passed away 5 years ago and my mother who is a Malaysian, who is in custody of me. They were divorced. I am 19 years old currently.

My questions are:
1/Is Cambridge A'Level certificate recognized in Japan university?
2/Am I considered a Japanese or International Student?
3/Is there any Identification Card in Japan that I need to apply?(I only have a passport and birth certificate)--->i found this question answered in wikipedia
4/My birthday is on November and I will be 20 on that day. Since I'm not yet considered an adult, do I need any guardian to sign for me?
5/I am not from a rich family and I need a financial assistance or bonds that could reduce the burden of education fee. Anyone that has some information on that?
6/I am thinking of teaching English and Chinese(private tuition) in Japan. Do I need to apply for anything?

This is just what I know (or knew) from my past experience. There may be others who have more up-to-date info, but here goes:

My questions are:
1/Is Cambridge A'Level certificate recognized in Japan university?

It may be used as proof of your English ability but it doesn't contribute to admission into a Japanese university (i.e., admission into university courses taught in Japanese).

2/Am I considered a Japanese or International Student?

You are Japanese but don't qualify for admission to most Japanese universities because you don't have education in Japan in Japanese schools. You belong to the category of Japanese who have had non-Japanese international education (such as at international schools in Japan). In this respect, you are an international student.

3/Is there any Identification Card in Japan that I need to apply?(I only have a passport and birth certificate)--->i found this question answered in wikipedia

If you have a Japanese passport, you are Japanese. No need for ID cards. The Japanese normally use their drivers' licenses as ID.
However, you may have to look into whether you are registered in your late father's koseki (family registry) in Japan to confirm this. The koseki is the definitive proof of your Japanese citizenship.

I don't know what you want to "sign," but you are legally adult on your 20th birthday.

There are financial assistance programs for Japanese citizens, but I don't know whether they apply to you since you're not eligible for "regular" Japanese university admission. You may have to check into such matters through your father's municipality in Japan, schools you hope to enter in Japan, etc.

Teaching English/Chinese is easy, so long as you can find students who are willing to pay, because you're free of visa problems.

um, i can try to answer #5. you should start by looking into scholarships. if you are planning to enter graduate school, you could look into the Monbusho(MEXT) scholarship for research students(this is the only scholarship i know about).

im going to japan embassy tomorrow to enquire more about education in japan.
since im considered international student then i have to take the EJU(Examination for Japanese University Admission) but not the NCT(National Center Test for University Admission)...
by the way i took a look at previous years NCT...
the questions were quite easy, and since i have foundations of basic japanese and have learnt chinese, i think that catching up on japanese will be easy(1 year i guess?)
so can anyone also advise me what exam to take for proving my knowledge in japanese?
is JLPT good enough?are there any other exams to prove my japanese proficiency?
the MEXT scholarship's applications just ended didnt they?
i think i will aim for waseda XD

Hi, just to offer my 2 cents, you can actually contact JASSO for more information. While your case might be a little bit different, the counsellors there might be able to help you with regards to taking the Japanese language tests, and to source for the best university for your education. Given that you are half-malaysian, you might want to check with them on any scholarship / financial aid opportunities as well.

i got information from the japan embassy and they advised me to take EJU for entering the japanese university.
