I'm not sure what's confusing you here exactly, but...I'm currently translating a chapter for a school project, and there's just one line that's got me a bit confused:
"そんなに
にらまなくても
飲みたいならあるよ"
It's said by a vampire, to another vampire. The vampire he's talking to doesn't trust him at all, and refuses to drink blood, which is what I assume he's referring to "drinking", meaning drinking blood.
This is literally the first lines in a chapter, so there's not much scene context to give, but the next line said by the second vampire is :"誰の血だ" if that helps at all.
Uwooooh, I see now! Honestly thank you so much, you both did a wonderful job of explaining!飲みたいならあるから、そんなににらまなくてもいいよ/いいのに might make more sense.
Yes, exactly. I don't believe any other word exists that can conjugate into にらまない, and certainly only にらまない can become にらまなくても.So, am I right to assume that "にらま" is coming from the word: "睨む"?
ファイアーラビット is English, sort of. Literally 'fire rabbit' in kana. Both words are commonly used in Japanese as loan words. 火兎 is a made up word that jams 'fire' and 'rabbit' kanji together. It's obvious enough that it might be seen in a RPG game, or on a card like that in my earlier post, but it isn't a real word as such.thanks always so helpful , so whats the difference between 伝説的なファイアーラビット and 伝説の火兎 ?
transliteration of the English word vs. literal translationthanks always so helpful , so whats the difference between 伝説的なファイアーラビット and 伝説の火兎 ? I really should just take a Japanese course...

This is throwing me off a bit. Is it a double negative and so he's saying he will also support you or not?
