Hey there folks,

I'd like to ask for some confirmation that I'm reading the following convo correctly. This scene is within two members of the same squad, a man (A) and a woman (B), discussing that their mutual appreciation for their leader's ideals is what brought them together. The man says they're all 同志 and then it goes like this:

B: 私の事もそう思ってくださるんですか?
A: もちろんですよ。
A: ええと・・・断っておきますが、女性だから苦手とか、そういう事を言うつもりはありませんから。

The bold phrase is what I'm not 100% sure of. The man, as he points out, is gynophobic, so is he saying that while he DOES consider B to be a comrade, he will not vocalize it because of his issues with women?

女性だから苦手 is not the same as 女性が苦手. It means あなたが女性だから苦手.
そういう事 refers to "女性だから苦手 or something like that(= とか)", and he says he is not going to say it (= 言うつもりはありません).


景気の悪い means しょうもない/地味な "plain/quiet(= not flamboyant/showy)" there.
くたばり方すんじゃねえ ＝ くたばり方（＝死に方）をするんじゃない
 

Hmm but if そういう事 referred to that, why would he open with 断っておきますが? I was assuming that そういう事 referred to him confirming that he DOES think of A as 同志 but he will not say it to her outright since 女性だから苦手 (he can't even speak if a woman gets too close).

Originally, I was reading that line as something like: "But, fair warning, I won't say that out loud, what with my difficulties with you being a woman and whatnot." Is that wrong?

If so, could I ask how you'd read the whole phrase?
 
I'm not going to say I'm no good at dealing with you because you are a woman (= I think you are my 同志 even if I'm gynophobic and you are a woman).

The subject of そういう考えができる is "you" or the one the speaker is talking about.
所 is the subject of 頼もしい and ノーテンキ（だ）.

(The previous sentence is:

頼もしいと言うべきかノーテンキと言うべきか makes more sense? The speaker is wondering which the way of his thoughts should be called, reliable or thoughtless.

Is this an expression? I looked up the words just in case but I can't seem to find a good way to translate this.
 
So, to usually express my thanks? as thanks for always? I feel stupid but I can't think of how to make it sound natural in english.

Chobi is (jokingly) referring to Bon's compliment to Yoji:

I'm a bit confused with the ため usage in the following sentence. I just can't understand why does it used here.
