「個」は、「三個師団」のようにある種の名詞を格助詞なしで修飾するが、これは中国語の「箇（个）」に由来する用法である。なお「三ヶ月・三ヶ所・三ヶ国」などの「ヶ」（箇）も同じ成り立ちの言葉だが、現在の日本語では「箇」だけで助数詞であるという意識は失われている。

Seems like a simple sentence, but the (だけ)で part is kind of confusing. Is this the 5th/6th usage? We're still talking about ヶ here?

The awareness that "ヶ" is a counter only in the shape of "箇" has been lost in present day Japanese?
 
It says that ヶ/箇 can't be used as a counter just by themselves (works only with another counter such like 三ヶ月・三ヶ所・三ヶ国).

So, it's saying that this awareness of ヶ/箇 being counters by themselves has been lost in present day Japanese. Which means that they were usable as standalone counters before at some point in time?

BTW, I got slipped up by the fact that the counter was referred to as "「ヶ」(箇)" at first, but then switched to just "「箇」". I thought that it's trying to say that one writing methodology became more acceptable over the other because of the wording

Yeah, I, too, think it's confusing. It might be because that 一ヶ is still sometimes used, unlike 一箇.

The context: These guys are in the middle of training. A dude that doesn't train want to invite a guy to train but he got rejected. The guy that is invited says he want to come here to play games but the other places are noisy so he tend to play it inside the mothership. However there are another two groups that he think they might request him to help them so he ran away from the mothership and goes to the training place. After some conversation a youngster says this line.
My translation is: ''Well, if you can read the reference book that much anybody will want to run away...''
Is it literally correct?
 
あれだけの参考書

読むとなれば is conditional; "if you are in the situation you read~ (= if you have to read~)".
 

You need to be more diligent in paying attention to verb tenses.

読む read
読める can read

Not being careful about verb tenses is frequently a cause of your errors.

みえてな means ''doesn't look after''(?)
 
みえてな is a slang of みたいな.
青くせぇ/青くさい means "adolescent (contemptuous nuance)".
 
Ooops, I didn't notice that typo at all! Yeah, it must be みてえな. (I assumed it's written as みてえな with no question, so I copied and pasted it.)
