Need a word or phrase translated?

In any case, there seem to be missing sound (or alphabets) which I guess should be something like this:

Woman: Juuni sai deshita
Man: Honma ka? (suprised)
Woman: Hai, Juuni sai deshita!
Man: Shogaksei dattan jan!

Woman: (I was) twelve years old.
Man: Really?
Woman: Yes, twelve years old!
Man: (So you) were an elementary school pupil!

"Honma" is a Kansai dialect, and the 2nd speech of the man ending "jan" is Kanto (or Yokohama) dialect, either of them could be mis-spelt or something.
Without the context, I cannot guess more, hope this is of some help.
 
Hi, thanks for that translation. Yeah, I just wrote what I heard.

That's the difficult thing about Japanese. If you don't know it very well, the dictionaries won't help you much because of the 'missing letters' that you confuse or don't hear.

Do you think you could also translate this? (I probably made more errors in this though, because of trouble hearing)

Person 1 : No Koi do noni ga no gash ga na reska
Person 2: O su gah
Skog gu su ru ti ten di mia

I'm sorry to say that any part of it does not make sense at all...

"na reska" might be "nan desuka" (what ... ?) and "skog gu" might be "sugoku" (very), but they could be totally wrong.

One point you should remember is that basically every consonant is followed by a vowel. "sk" does not happen in Japanese, especially in writing.
(In actual pronunciation, there are certain situations it could happen but not in writing.)
 
Or at least there are situations where it can give the impression of happening in speech. The /u/ is devoiced, but it's still there, technically speaking.

Anyway, I'm impressed you could get as much as you could out of that!

I can pretty much guess what most of it means, I'm just trying to figure out what the bold is. I thought maybe the first line was:

"(laughs) Look at how shes walking down the stairs" or
"(laughs) Looks like she's about to commit a crime (walking down the stairs like that)"

There is a Japanese writing shown on the video when she says this, which looks similar to what you wrote. But the subtitle only appears in this one spot, not for the others.

and the guy saying something like

"Do you have a cramp?" (joke)

Just wondering how close I was.

I can't find a lot of the words you wrote in my dictionary :emoji_frowning2:

I As already mentioned, it is very hard to give you accurate translation without any context. You saw the video (I guess) so you know the situation but how could I?
Are these girls and boys watching someone descending the stairs?
Who is Gak-san? I guess at least a girl called "Eri" is going down stairs, but who is talking to whom?

Are you trying to learn Japanese from watching this kind of video clips?
I do not recommend it until you learn a lot more basics because there are many contraction and colloquial expression, sometimes dialects and slang, they do not really help you. They do after you reach a certain level of the language.
 
Actually, your translation makes perfect sense now.

Bit confusing for me to tell you the context accurately since even I don't know exactly what is going on (since I can't understand what they are saying - even before this part of the video), but after thinking about it a bit more it makes perfect sense.

I'm just wondering though, why did you write the last line in CAPITALS? The guy isn't yelling or talking in a serious voice. Is it because of the words he is using?

Simply because his way of speech is putting a lot of weight i.e. more emphasis than his previous speeches. ;-)

Hello I need to translate this paragraph into Japanese. Any help would be appreciated.

Why do so many people feel the need to write at an unrealistic level ? Simplify the first sentence to something like "Small, everyday moments are what give life meaning" and try to re-work it from there. :sorry:
My hiatus from this site has put me slightly out of practice, but this is the idea:

Nichijou seikatsu no chisaina (chisakute, tokubetsuna) shunkan ga/ha (?)
jinsei ni igi/imi wo ataeru (mono).

Does 'Bonsai' have an English translation?
Because when I enter it into the online dictionary, it says that the translation of 'bonsai' is just 'bonsai'
 
It's a pretty Japanese culture-specific thing, so no. It's like "sushi" and "sashimi". I'm sure if you looked those up, you'd get "sushi" and "sashimi".

I would like to use this as a dedication written on the frame of the bicycle I'm restoring for my my girlfriend. The frame is all white, and I'd like to put this on the frame in black. It would look great, but I'd like to make sure that it says what I want it to say before I go ahead and trust a web translation.

Do you know the correct kanji for her name Sachiko? If you don't, it's impossible for other people to guess it.

examples of possible kanji

Hey Tori, thanks for the reply. As you could probably tell, my knowledge of Japanese is non-existent. I don't know the correct kanji for her name, but she has told me her name means happiness. Wikipedia says the name means child of bliss, or if written 幸子 it means happiness. If we assume that it's written 幸子, could you help me with the rest of the sentence please?

Unfortunately, 祥 in 祥子 also means "happiness". (幸子 is more common, though.) If you want to play safe, katakana/hiragana can be an alternative. Since katakana is often used when the correct kanji is uncertain, I would use サチコ if I were you.

気違い (kichigai) probably comes pretty close.

thanks for the quick reply! I was wondering about the word 'kuroshiki' because I want to say I've seen it some where meaning it but google doesn't show any relevance
