Hi guys! Could you please help me with translation into Japanese. If it's possible it should be written in KANJI. "Humble, average-looking white guy seeks warm, caring Asian woman with strong moral character and a background in quantum physics. Please, no supermodels." Thank you in advance.
完全に/と/まで/は/いかなかった/が=完全にではないが、それに近いくらいこの時期、両親はかなり頭を痛めたそうだが、この問題は、ある転機によって解決していった。幼稚園での最高学年である 「年長組み」になってから、完全に、とまではいかな かったが、それまでのワガママさが影をひそめていったのだ。
とまではいかなかったって、意味は何ですか?
払っていただいてありがとうございます is correct.;-)Hello everyone! I'm here again with another question.
I would like to say "Thank you for paying me" or "Thanks for the payment" in polite Japanese.
Is "払われて いただいて ありがとう ございます" correct?:? If not, I'd really appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks in advance to whoever helps me out with this!
Toritoribesama, oshieteitadaite, arigatou gozaimasu! (I hope I did this one right)払っていただいてありがとうございます is correct.;-)
The payer (the receiver of respect) is the addressee, and the receiver of the money (the giver of respect) is the speaker. So it must be 払っていただいて, not 払われて or the -te form of the passive form.
払った人: the addressee
払われた人: the speaker
お支払いいただき、ありがとうございます。 would be the politest one.
Toritoribesama, oshieteitadaite, arigatou gozaimasu! (I hope I did this one right)
Your explanation on the receiver and giver of respect cleared it all up.
Thank you so much
Ah, right! 払ってくださって would be the best!Just an additional note to Toritoribe san's great post, alternative way to say is
払ってくださってありがとうございます。
(くださる also suggests that the giver did a favour to the receiver.)
完全に/と/まで/は/いかなかった/が=完全にではないが、それに近いくらい
not (but nearly/almost) perfectly
な/さそうだthanks tori
学芸会、僕らの出し物は「ぐるんぱの幼稚園」。そのなかで「ジジ」という役があった。役どころは自動車修理工。 さして嫌われるような役でもなさそうだが、幼稚園児とは段純なものだ。 「ジジ」という名前がおじいさんみたいでイヤだと、誰もやりたがらなかったのだ。

込める is a verb to mean "to put ~ into something", thus, 心を込める means "to put one's heart into something." So the adverbial form 心込めて generally can be interpreted as "with all one's heart" or "sincerely."Hi! What does 心込めて mean? I've heard it in several song lyrics, but I still can't figure out its meaning. >w<
~のなんの is for emphasis.I have another question about sth I heard in a song (Utada Hikaru's Flavor of Life):
後一歩が踏み出せないせいで、じれったいのなんのってbaby.
What's the meaning/purpose of the section in red? Would it make a difference if she just ended it with "jirettaino"?

This 芥川's expression is rarely used in these days. Probably we would say something like 縄は、盗人のありがたさとして instead. As for the function of に, yes, your interpretation is correct.縄は盗人の有難さに、何時塀を越えるかわかりませんから、ちゃんと腰につけてい
たのです。
Once again, I'd like to kindly ask for assistance on this sentence. I've included the entire sentence for context. However, the only thing I'm unsure of is the に usage in the portion "縄は盗人の有難さに". I'm not sure what this means here. My one guess, is that it means "as", as in "As a thief's blessing, I never know when I'll have to scale a wall so I had it fashioned to my waste." I just need someone to confirm this for me. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Create an original translation next time. "Yori" as in "rather than pray for it we should meet/accept tomorrow ??"Thanks for answering my question last time!
I have another question about a line from a song:
昨日に戻れないけど 祈るように明日を迎える
Although we can't return to yesterday, rather than wishing for it, we should accept the past
I found a translation online somewhere, but what is the purpose of "youni" in this context? would "yori" make sense?
Thanks in advance!
