Hello, I have a friend with a torii gate on the property that is believed to have been imported from Japan many decades ago. The gate is approximately 10 feet tall. I was wondering if anybody could translate the characters carved into it. It is difficult to capture them in a picture, but hopefully the pics I uploaded will show them adequately. Thank you!

Hello, I just wanted to know what these kanji mean? It looks like the 2nd means something like "anti" but I can't find the first/upper one.
