Do you have a place or a time that you keep just for yourself? Somewhere you can escape to? Or maybe somewhere to keep the things that mean the most to you? Or just a certain time of day when you can be by yourself?
Perhaps stereotypically, I have my dressing table. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in the shop. It's really more of a cabinet, with doors that open to reveal a fully mirrored interior. There are drawers to keep all my make-up and hair stuff, and space for my jewellery boxes and mannequins. I keep all my precious things there - ornaments I've had since I was little, keepsakes from my grandmas who have both been dead for several years, souvenirs from my honeymoon and special days out, a photo of my wedding, even a silk rose my first boyfriend gave me when I was 14. There are pretty boxes on top where I keep my wedding dress and the dress I wore when I was my sister's bridesmaid. Every time I open those doors I'm surrounding by good memories.
My husband has a time. He's an early riser and I'm emphatically not, so he has an hour or so in the mornings, which he cherises.
What about you?
