I didn't consider KEN WATANABE as a good-looking guy before, but when he was standing next to Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai, suddenly he became very good-looking. No... very very very good-looking should be more accurate...

HEAR HEAR!! Ken Watanabe is very good-looking, masculine-looking, and.....he rides a horse in The Last Samurai (which is a big plus in my notebook, as I love horseback riding)

In fact, of all Japanese idols, I like Watanabe most!

Yeah! Ken Watanabe is pretty cool! I beleive he's gonna play uber arch villain R'as Al Ghul in the new Batman movie coming out in 2005.

As for horseback riding, I can live without it. Fell off a pony while at the zoo when I was eight and was traumatized. Haven't gotten on any of the darn beasts since.

There are thousands of female idols in Japan. Too many to know all of them. However, a dozen are known by about all the Japanese because they often appear on TV shows or commercials (eg. Koike Keiko, Matsuura Aya...)

Yinling (or "Inrin" インリン in Japanese) is a half-Taiwanese half-Japanese idol and she is becoming increasingly popular. She already made the front page of some weekly magazines (which the first page is advertised inside trains) next to Bush and Saddam last year (just to show how important she is to the Japanese readers). Now she appears on TV shows almost every week (usually from midnight, on the main free channels). I usually watch because she happens to be a friend of my wife.

Yinling was said to have auditioned for some movie roles in Hong Kong. They didn't pick her, not even for soft porn, saying she looked too slutty and her face wasn't pretty enough.

Funnily, even for porn, Chinese people prefer watching innocent-looking girls to some wild Xcuking wXores.

i think hamasaki ayumi is the most popular one. ayumi's new single "carols" is really wonderful.and nakashima mika, she's great.
otsuka ai becomes quite popular this year.

i'm not quite familar with actors, sorry~~but i still think kubozuka yoshike is the best.
