Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2016

Hello again guys!
I've been really concerned about one thing. I have to take a chemistry exam and it looks pretty hard to a guy, who's been only keeping up with physics and mathematics for his specialization.
So how do you better prepare for that? Are there any learning materials you can recommend?

hey guys!!!! I'm new here and I'm from the Philippines. I would like to ask if where should I put my 1st year to 4th year high school in the application form? should I put it in the lower secondary school or upper secondary school? Thanks.

Hey, gusto ko lang mag tanong kung saan mo nilagay yung 1st year to 4th year highschool mo sa application form? sa lower secondary school or upper secondary school?

Write it in the lower secondary. :) May 29's deadline tho.
 
Hello, I'm now filling my appliction and I got stuck at question 12: "what academic field would you like to study in Japan?" Can you please tell me what they refer to by "academic field"?! Thanks

I submitted my application form on May 28 and I already wrote my 1st year to 4th year in the upper secondary school :( I just followed what my school instructed me.

I put mine in the lower secondary. But i think the embassy can understand the confusion:-)
 
Hello everybody! I'll take social science (law) monbusho test this june,and i still wonder japanese is very important to achieve? I've learnes japanese for 3 years,but i'm around intermediate level.
 
Hey did you take the monbusho 2016 exam? Are you natural science or social science? How was english test? I'll be happy if you reply :)
 
Is there anyone here who applied for the 2016 mext undergraduate scholarship from the Philippines? If so, can you please let me know? thanks!

also, for the undergraduate scholarship, how are people selected, are all the applicants accepted and are allowed to take the exams or only a few are chosen?

Hi! I'm Frank from the Philippines! I will try to apply next year for MEXT scholarship. Hahahaha.
And oh, for the undergraduate scholarship, applicants are selected based on their performance In the written exam, interview, and document screening. The first stage is the document screening. If you are able to pass it, then you can proceed to the written exam. Be wary though because not all people can pass the document screening (e.g due to insufficient requirements, or ineligible to apply pa). If you have completed your requirements and you are eligible, then you are guaranteed to take the written exam.

The Second stage is the Written Exam. The subjects you will examine are dependent on the course you will choose. To say it frankly, only little are able to pass the examination. Be sure to be 1000% ready when you will take it hahaha. ( Yeah, may pagka mahirap iyong Math and to be honest hindi ako medyo kagalingan sa Math. But I'm trying my best to study it. Hahaha) If you passed it, then you go to the interview stage.

Interview stage. The interviewers will interrogate you obviously. Hahahaha. Kung nakapasa ka, nominated ka na ng embassy for the scholarship. In the end, iyong MEXT mismo ang gagawa ng final decision. If you are selected, then congratulations! Mag- aaral ka sa Japan! :D

Certainly helped! I actually applied for this batch of prospective scholars. Just waiting for the notification if I've been selected for the written exam or not. I'm a bit nervous since I really dont have any idea how the screening committee selects people and that they wont inform you if you failed the initial documuent screening; you just wait for the selection period to end :(( like if you get a notification, youre in for the next stage, if you dont, youre out.

I'm sorry if it's already been asked but how exactly you prepare for math? I mean books,sites,etc?
 
Hi, I have a quick question that I hope you pros can answer.
I am writing from Canada, where the school year ends in June. As I understand it, a Canadian student who will be graduating high school in June 2016 cannot apply for Monbukagakusho 2016, and must wait for 2017. My question: What do these students typically do while waiting to apply for 2017? Do they attend local universities? If so, how does the timing work out? Final exams at university are usually in early April, but Monbukagakusho scholars are supposed to be available to travel to Japan the first week of April.
I'd love to hear how people have handled this situation. Many thanks!
 
Though I'm not entirely sure about this, I think you can apply. I suggest you ask the embassy before giving up hope on this year ^^
 
I got the principal of my school to do the recommendation form, but I'm not sure if she made a copy before putting it in the envelope. should I be worried about not passing the document screening? In U.S.A
 
Hey guys! Some of us have already received the email from our embassy saying that we passed the documents screening. Hope we all do well in the exams. And good luck to those who are still waiting for their notification :-D

The tests seem to put more than 1 concept into each question. I use khan academy and while it doesn't have every concept covered, it has quite a few. Do you already have the syllabus for math? you could google every topic and try that way.
