Monbukagakusho Undergraduate 2015

Nah..they compare you with everyone..they don't necessarily have to pick someone from your country..

With numbers like that for America there is no hope for South Africa I only found it by accident so i'm likely to be one of maybe three.....plus i've tried motivating people to take this opportunity but most are like "you gonna stay there so long by the time you come back you'll have squinted eyes" and think i'm crazy. Dont know why its like this?

I wonder what they'd think of people who say they like anime..as long as you don't come off as obsessed it should be oj,right?

Brendz the scholarship age range is meant to appeal for students who are about to graduate high school. And keep in mind this about america:
We dont have lots of japanese speakers/classes/tutors(any really good ones that can be of big help with the exam at least)
And really, all the applicants im sure are having to cram for these exams.
I read a while back that there were like 80 sitting for the exam in another country

No tutors or classes here.......only self taught.Oh hows that going for you guys, is your Japanese any good, I seem to be stuck as I can never see where one word begins and another ends.

The lady at my embassy said we get 2-3 applicants every year and last year wss the first time a Greek person got it so the fewer applicants,the better for us ^^

First time only now..over how many years....damm im not too sure about the fewer is better thing now.

Brendz, i think right now if i took the elementary japanese exam then id get like a 80 or 90.
Im sorry to hear that though. You dont need a tutor though. I know a lot of Japanese so if theres some other place you can talk id be more than happy explaining Japanese to you!
I dont know the last time an american got it. Ive only hear 2 stories of when an american got it

My Japanese is nearing the begniner level..I've been at it for 1,5 years,self taught but due to my laziness I'm still not as good as I should be..at least sentence wise.. ^^;

I think since the start of the scholarship but I'm not sure..
That's pretty good drewa! You've got the bonus to make up for math issues.. ^^

Ive been at Japanese for like almost 6 years now maybe and my skill doesnt line up because its been on and off.
on the application my consulate said to write self taught for japanese language background.

I got Japanese demystified and Japanese for busy people(if you want ill email it) and so far ive progressed but I guess I shouldn't learn for the exam as its way past my level I guess its just become a hobby......man i've got too much time.

We've got a few Japanese tutors but I have my doubts about how good they are..even English teachers here are likely to teach you how to pronounce stuff wrong..

Nice! :O It'll surely come in handy.. :3
If you're up to it,please do! It'd be useful :3
Do you guys have any tips on how to progress quickly in algebra? ^^;

Sure ill try my best to send it......sorry cant help Maths is my Kryptonite.

If you guys want we could make a chatroom in Line to practice our japanese, math,etc.
I never really learned japanese from books. I learned mostly from the internet and talking to japanese people. There are some japanese books i want but its so expensiiiiivvvee. not really, but the fact is i just dont have money.
And algebra? hmm, algebra always looks scary when you cant do it. but it usually turns out to be simpler than it appears.
Once again, Brendz and Squishy, we could make a chatroom in Line to practice this stuff. I think we would progress far since there are 3 brains

Yeah sounds good, I was actually beginning to get worried that people would get angry as we are filling up the forum......

Man,this is the second time I wish I could use LINE..
I'd love to but I don't really get much time on the computer and I've already used up quite a lot of my mom's mobile internet so I don't think she'd let me get the app on her phone on top of that .-.
xDD It's ok,thanks anyway! ^^

Haha well, how about now we talk on Line, Squishy and Brendz? Cause we for sure cannot turn this forum into a place for practicing our japanese. So can you guys tell me your Line usernames? Mine is drewarnold

Same with my country, the Japanese language just discourages everyone.

Okay, so yeah guys just add me on Line.
And there we will share things such as math help, japanese, etc. So we can not have this forum so cluttered with our conversations haha. And we can post our information that we share through Line here on the forum if we get anything useful ^_^

Is there anywhere else I could contact you guys from? Unlesss if I get lucky it'll be a while before I'll be able to start using LINE >.<
