But I learned from the last year not to keep the hope more than 50% in order not to be shocked if............(i don't want to say it). I am just thinking positively all the time with praying.

Hi there..
I have an experience to show you a little bit more about research plan..
- you have to know what to do and in what field..
- find the general topic and ask the advise from your supervisor (if in this stage you already found your prof, ask his opinion)..
- don't be too general otherwise you will be consider doing some plagirism (i got a warning because i did quote some long words from encyclopedia.com)
-just remember that u only HAVE to know what you want to do, and that's why no need to focus on method and be aware of your english style in your writing.

Basically, i also confused to find the right topic from the beginning, too general and still immature research plan when i met my prof, and then he gave me a topic and I start to compose the new one after the warning from admission officer.

I applied for master degree either, and to have this proposal ready is hard and long journey, but at least i tried
So.. It's better for you to discuss with your prof or your lecturer from your undergraduate degree..

optimistic thinking is all what we need.. I am trying not to fall in deep stress while I am waiting the result, today is 13th. Feeling is so hard to be expressed.

I re-read the e-mail sent by Program Coordinator in March, he said "MEXT result by late June"; I personally think this should be somewhere around 25~30 and we should know MEXT result through e-mail. Then we would receive the hardcopies on early July.
The days are coming very near then...

My school just emailed me to let me know I passed the MEXT process. I'm starting in Sept.

Wow! Which is your Uni?
If this is the case, I guess every uni should also have received the result from MEXT.

BTW two of my friends received there acceptance by today early morning. So I hope we will not wait until 25th-30th of June. *pray*

I just received the acceptance too. Keio Univ.
I didn't worry about it much to be honest, but hell it is still better than waiting.

I received it by email.
It is not hardcopy, just by email and they will send the LoA by end of June. I studied at University of Fkui as exchange student before and i am returning back to it.

I am sure you will receive yours soon iA.

Masayoshi, didnt you apply to the Doshisha Univesity?

So, this means the results from Doshisha and Keio University are out?

Maybe only the private universities received the results.

I got an "unofficial notification" of my acceptance from the University of Tokyo today. They told me that an "official notification" and documents would be delivered to me by the end of the month.

I'm not sure how much my situation corresponds to all of yours. My correspondance is mainly with the foreign office of my faculty, rather than the university or MEXT directly. Additionally, I did not have an entrance exam or any kind of formal interview.

Hey mate, today I received a 'Pre-Orientation Guidelines' pack from my department. It states that 'In late July the Japanese Ministry of Education will formally confirm the MEXT scholarships.'

Obviously I can't say if it's the same for your department, but seems like its quite a long way off, so I will have to try and take my mind off it for a while!
