MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

So you had information about your flight, but Embassy still wants your e-ticket?
I have received the information regarding the flight and filled the application form but I don't have any idea about the itinerary or the travel agency.

Don't worry, you will have more information soon

Hi All,
I just wanted to add to the discussion about "visa applications."
Just a little background about myself, I am a university recommended MEXT recipient (general category) from Tohoku University.
I was able to get my visa through my local Japanese consulate without my airplane ticket. Although there are spaces on the visa application form to input departure information, I do not believe that it is a requirement.

I submitted my application today and was asked to collect my passport on friday. I have yet to receive information or forms about the air ticket though.

Collected my visa today. But it is a single entry visa which is weird. Did all of you get a single entry visa?

Rishi,
I got a multiple entry visa. Perhaps it may be good to confirm the visa status with your local Japanese consulate/embassy.

I guess I'll check with them.
@Sakaggi Did you get a single entry visa or multiple entry visa?
It is a single entry visa but they told me that once you reach, you will get a card which you can keep in Japan and we can transit with that multiple times. This Visa is just for the entry within the timespan mentioned.

Thanks for informing me. Searched about it and found this:
"multiple-entry visas are only issued to nationals of countries that have reciprocal arrangements with Japan."

Yeah, we will get the resident card, so we don't need it. I confirmed it from a senior MEXT grantee.

Hi guys!!!
Can you tell me when the summer vacation will start in japan ?

Hi guys!!!

I think summer vacation should be over at this moment. Do you receive your air ticket and go to embassy for Visa?

Has anyone received the air-ticket? Which airline does MEXT prefer?

But

But you contacted your University, right? Don't worry too much, it takes only 7 days to get your Visa ready.
It only takes one day to get the visa in my country, but you need the ticket. I have received the itinerary only and i hope this week i will get the e-ticket.

I have received my eticket yesterday and it's Korean Air.
I have received only information flight from the office of my university and not confirmed yet because I used the reference nnumber to see if the flight is booked but I can't seem to find it. I emailed the university but still have no answer and still wait for the ticket to get my visa this is taking so long my friend !! You think it is normal because my departure is September 17 and I still have no visa or the ticket

Not very sure, my departure date is September 28. I think you should wait for the University to reply because it's a weekend right now, so maybe by this week you will receive your eticket.
