MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

I contacted my professor at 21. He suggested me to wait.
 
Hi all, for what it's worth, in my experience, when MEXT says "by the end of the month," they almost always mean "on the last day of the month." And that's when they tell the universities - it might still take some time for that announcement to filter down to the applicants.

On the other hand, with PGP programs (the ones being announced at the end of July), there is a set number of spaces for each program and the universities know exactly how many people they can recommend and how many can get the scholarship. The only reason MEXT would turn down someone would be if they didn't meet all of the eligibility criteria or if their name was on an international terrorist list. That's more or less what MEXT itself says in its guidance to universities (pdf file in Japanese).

So, while I understand the excitement and anticipation, I don't think there should be any cause for concern!

Just got a mail from my professor that I have passed and received the scholarship.

I've just received email from my University that I've officially been selected as the recipient of MEXT Scholarship. Hope you all get your notification email today. We are all going to Japan!!!

Did they tell you the Visa procedure? My University has dispatched my certificate and I can apply for Visa after tomorrow(after receiving the certificate, ofcourse). Also where do you stay in India?

They informed me about the selection and that they will contact me regarding visa application soon.

I am from Pilani but currently in Delhi. I am learning Japanese here so that I don't go to Japan blank.

This is Abhi.
I would like to congratulate everyone who has got the acceptance.
I have applied to Saitama University for Ph.D. through MEXT-Uni Reco.
I was informed by the foreign student office that I have been nominated for the scholarship. But still did not receive any confirmation.
Does MEXT or University inform if anyone is disqualified?

My program's classes will begin in October, but I will go to Japan in early September because there will be orientation events for students.

Have you applied for visa? I can't find the required documents needed beside the one MEXT will send.
If you know can you please tell me.
 
@Rishi I have been to Japan as a short-term overseas researcher. For the visa application I received an agreement from my funding agency. I just had to give a copy of that certificate along with my passport to the Japan Consulate. And did not have to pay the visa processing charges as well. After 4 working days, I received my visa.

I also visited my host institution for 15 days and for that I did not need any documents other than the ones you mentioned. However, I have just completed my Bachelors and have yet to receive the proof of graduation so I was wondering if it is needed for college student visa application or just the documemts that MEXT will send.
