MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

Oh I saw your post in the other forum! Seems like I'm spanning this thread haha! We have to wait until late June hope we get it earlier
 
Dear all,

I have applied Economics in Kyoto University. I have got Letter of Acceptance and University recommendation to MEXT. Now I am waiting for the official result. How many percentages will I get MEXT scholarship? Is there anybody knowing about it? Thanks for responding.

Hi everyone,

I have also applied to the MEXT scholarship through university recommendation. I was told that results will be out by April. Judging from nthuyentn's post, it seems that results are also not out for Kyoto University. Has any of you guys been contacted by the university you applied to or your professors about results? I'm just a little anxious since it's already May and I haven't heard from my university yet.

Hey there! To which university did you apply to? My professor hasn't contacted me yet either. Based on the other thread of this forum, Hirosaki U still hasn't received the results from MEXT.

Hi! I applied to Gunma University. Did your professor say anything about when results will be out?
 
we are just waiting the results, in the contract it should be out 30 April but with the golden week and so many holidays we hop we can get it this week at list Friday 9 May .

Last, last week my prof said that it would be out either end of April or beginning of May. But somehow it's not out yet.. maybe it's because of their golden week/holiday (as mentioned in the previous post).

This wait is aggravating!!

how about you, any news so far?
 
I am planning from a long long time to continue my master and my higher education in Japan

of course through university recommendation
I have already specified my list of universities and supervisors i am going to contact soon

but here is the problem ..... after finishing my bachelor , I do have a field that i love to continue in it
but i don't have a specific subject , you know like i don't have something accurate to do a research proposal
so i would like to ask you the help , already recipient of mext scholarship or who do have good info
1- do you think it is good to contact a professor whom i read about his researches and try to ask him about papers or things he would advice me to make my research proposal about (just sending my cv and asking him if he can recommend me any papers or even some paths ,subjects or good points he may accept me if my research proposal is about them
2- do you think i should short my list and read about every single prof and his works and then try to come up with good research proposal and then send it in my first email ?
3- do you think i should ask the prof for help and ask him what he would like me to research about .....like you know continuing previous students (masters or phds ) work ?

and here I am taking about good univs top 20 ^_
 
Hey there! I would recommend you read the forums and research more about the scholarship and the field that you want instead of asking questions like that. I saw your new thread for your questions and I don't want to sound too harsh, but the possible reason why nobody is answering might be because it feels like you're trying to get the easy way to get the scholarship. Many people would love to study in Japan too, but you won't get it by just asking people for easy answers. Please read all the information that you can, because there are a lot of it out there just search for it, and try to start from there.

actually you wouldn't believe that but i started my searching since more than 10 months and i read all the threads in "Studying in Japan" ,searched all the Japanese univs for my field of study ,shortlisted it to match mine best (about six univs ),read my possible supervisors research interests .............. and even i did write a research proposal but before start to send it,one of monbusho recipient has just told me that he advice me to not send it and instead asking to profs about what they would like me to research about ......You are not harsh at all ,,,i am grateful for your reply and hope the rest would take apart too
 
I guess the one who advised you and I have different views. I promptly sent them an abstract of my proposal just to let them know my field and plan. It shows that you're serious about getting the scholarship and also conducting a research, but of course that's my opinion. If the professor would want to change my research plan, that's okay too. What's important is we have the same field of research and interest.

I don't know if you have come across this website, but this is really helpful. It's actually one of my primary basis and source of knowledge when getting the scholarship.

Hi all,

I applied to Keio IGP program in school of S&T, and got recommended to mext through university. I got acceptance from univ, but waiting for further result from mext which should come June. I'm anxious with the waiting....

Just like to find out anyone else applying to Keio with SEPT intake?

Do u mean what criteria my supervisor looked at b4 accepting me?

If that's what u meant, I think he look at previous academic result and working experience. But that's my guess only as he didn't say it. That's the info I sent him.
 
I have been contacted by my proposed supervisor from Kyushu University under the Mext Scholarship. How appealing that is

I'm applying for MEXT this year through university recommendation. I'm applying for the Biotechnology Global Human Resource Development Program in Osaka University. I have finished the interviews with all the professor, got accepted by the professor of the lab I want to study in and the admission of Osaka university for master degrees program , and I'm preparing all the documents for the MEXT scholarship. I just want to ask you the chance of success for the MEXt scholarship :'( I'm literally worrying to death :'( the Prof. secretary is helping me to prepare all the documents though. Is there anyone had failed after passing the university qualification examinations? I hope that someone can help me in this issue :'(

If your professor is willing to support you, he might have certain level of confidence, but I can't quote any probability figure :-D. I would say u stand a chance.

Just prepare the document required by your univ and send them out before deadline. They tends to have specific requirements for documents and forms you need to fill in. After that pray and learn japanese so you would not suffer to much with the long waiting .

This waiting sure is so nerve breaking :'( I have refused a scholarship in Korea for this. Just want to be sure or get some information, I don't dare to ask my (hopefully) Professor that if I am good enough :'(

For Malaysia the MEXT application for research student starts in March and deadline is around early April. Different country might have different deadline, but could be checked easily from Japan embassy website for your country. For your info too I sent in application through univ recommendation in Oct/Nov and waited until July the next year before getting final confirmation, so best to do something to focus your mind and not worry excessively.

I posted all my documents to my Professor and he sent mail to me asking of my International airport I would be using when leaving Ghana. Is this a sign of confidence the professor has in me? Any chances?
