Am applying via Embassy, I have a written exam in about an hours time from now. Am not yet sure if as a research student I will be required to do the japan language test as well. But will update you as soon as am back.
If your field of study doesn't require you to study in depth knowledge of Japanese language, it is okay if you didn't perfect the Japanese language test. @Derrick AkaThanks.

Enjoy explorin'.We did the written Test, now waiting for the results and short list of those to attend the oral interviews. The results are scheduled to be out today. Am hoping to be on that List. Also, I have tried to send emails to the professors in the Three Universities I had put as my choice selection asking them for guidance and help on the research proposal and also if they are willing supervise but none has replied as yet. Only an associate professor from Tohoku replied informing me that associate professors cannot supervise and only full professors supervise. Also am really working on writing a more serious research proposal for a masters in civil structural engineering. Any pointers you can give me will be very helpful.

The link works for me. I think its because I have changed the group type to secret because people who are not even selected for the scholarship were joining the group. I wanted a group for selected scholars to discuss stuff. Can you send a link of your fb profile to me? I'l invite you. I applied to MEXT research student last year but failed, but this time I have applied for the second time with different research topic, and I am heading soon to the embassy for an interview. I am pretty sure they will ask me why did I change my topic. To be honest, I've changed the topic because the first one wasn't very interesting to me. I guess I can't say that to the interview panelHas anyone had any experience with that? And how would you handle that question?
