electronic dictionaries are everywhere in japan, you will have no problem finding them...every electronic goods/computer store (sofmap, yamada, midori, k`s denki, seiden, big camera, yodobashi camera etc.) sells them, variety stores such as daiei, jusco etc. also stock a pretty good range...the first one I ever bought was from a newsagency in a shopping mall!where can i get the elec dict?? is it sold in every japanese shooping mall? what kind of shop sell them?
i dont recommend changing your money there.. u lose alot to currency exchange,, they will first change your money to USD means u lose to USD exchange then only to yen 2nd time losing to exchange rate

Did anyone else get information regarding transport from the airport to the dorm from their faculty office? I just got an email informing me about a cheapish door-to-door transportation service, which Kyodai highly encourages all Monbusho scholars to use.
According to the email, upon arrival we should get to the MK Skygate Shuttle counter and declare we are Kyoto University exchange students. A van will take us directly to the dorms, so no need to wander through the Kyoto subway and bus system dragging heavy luggage. Cost is 3500 yen from KI to both Shugakuin and Ohbaku. We get to bring one large piece of luggage for free, and each additional one is 1000 yen. We don't have to pay on location for this service, and the fee is collected at a later date by the Foreign Student Division at Kyodai.

Hi all!!... long time since my last post, mext finally changed my uni from Tamabi to Kyudai and I've been busy preparing and stuff. I just wanted to cheer you up about long trips and late arrival date... I'll be leaving home at 7:00 am on the 1st of April but won´t get to Fukuoka until the 3rd at 10:00 pm... so it's three entire days of flying and waiting.....

Maybe they were just trying to find the cheapest route. My consulate told me they booked me the cheapest route, so I have 3 flights when it can be 2 for some 100usd more.Well whoever booked my flight was really mean.
So the deo in japan is really weak.
