Hi, Aninasan! The deadline of our submission was last May 28, 2012. How about you? Hmm.. I'm applying for the Undergraduate category. For your other questions, I guess you can ask the Japanese Embassy in your place. And you can photocopy the documents that needs to have extra copies.
I haven't read all your posts, but have you received the e-mail of whether you passed the 1st screening or not? And if yes, then how long ago have you received it?
When was your deadline to send in the application, and how long did it take them to notify you on the exam date?
I think getting TOEFL books would be your best bet in preparing for the English exams. They are official tests for checking your English skills, so I believe that is your best preparation you can get. That's what I am doing. Besides, I will need to take TOEFL exams for applying to my Grad schools, so it works perfectly.Hah I need to send to the organization through which the Japanesse embassy collects applications another papers. Damn... I really thought I had everything and now they want additional papers. it caused me a great deal of stress yesterday but fortunately I have it all and will deliver it on thursday.
And about the exam: I will have only english and japanese test to take on the 25th of June if I get the invitation email. So from what books do you prepare for the english exam?
My deadline was June 8th as well, and yet I still didn't get any notification. I was applying for Master's, so I'm hoping that they go by some kind of list: undergraduate, Master's and then PhD, so hopefully next week I will get an e-mail.

I too am waiting for the reply. This is the final week for them to notify us. I am gonna keep hope till Friday and then I'll see, but it is so nerve-wrecking.

I am new here and I am also applied for the MEXT scholarship. My field of study is Art History, anyone else?
Do you know anyone who got the scholarship in this field of study and didn't speak japonese? Because I don't speak. I friend of mine didn't speak too, but he got it two years ago. His field of study is international relation.

has anyone done the tests already? arghhh my exams are next week in Greece and i just found out that the Japanese exam is 2 hours instead of the one hour from previews years... whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! I can hardly speak it after the chaos I've been through this year with university -____- ''' I am still happy thaat they called me though (; .. two weeks I was burning and sweating and making all these scenarios..

Hmm I was notified that the English test starts at 9:00 and the Japanese at 10:15. From this I presume English will take an hour and do not know how long the Japanese will need. But in Slovakia the Japanese test is mandatory and if you do it the result from the highest score counts.
So has anyone done the research student test? What was the test like?
