Leonidas, thanks a lot for the links~!

And I feel your pain when looking at the math exam samlples xD..

Btw may I ask you a few questions? What are you studying at your uni right now and what's your japanese level?

So everyone started to prepare?

Most certainly..
I'm thinking about signing for a 3-month language school for January as well.

As for kanji I know there is a good pc program where you could practice writing them, too.

I think I might apply for MEXT next year. It would be my first time, I'm not eligible right now since I haven't graduated (I'll apply for graduate courses, you see), but hopefully by January I'll be fully eligible :) I was hoping to go to Tokyo, but it seems like Kyoto has some places that suit my needs much better. We'll see.

I am going to study Computer Science and Technology at VSB- Technical univerzity of Ostrava (vsb.cz)

My Japanese... well I know about 500 kanji, now learning about 30 new per day. I was trying to study seriously for about a year but started to study regulary from this month.

I am studying on my own because only classes nearby are for "beginers" and they are wa too slow for me (already know most of what they learn) and private lectures are too expensive for me (otherwise I would be already in Japan). It is hard to motivate myself sometimes, but now I am quite confident. I am using method that is prooved and seems quite consistent and natural for me. 👍

Well I think you just need motivation, self confidence and don't have to study hardcore, but every day and repeat qite lot to make sure nothing faints. 👍

Wow, you're a hero oAo I'd love to pull something like that on my own. I guess I'll have to try it to see if I can do it, huh? I have to be a little more like you.

Hey!
I'm new and registered here because I'm going to apply for MEXT undergraduate next year (this year I'm too young). And I want to ask if there's someone also planning to apply for MEXT scholarship next year.
By the way, are you preparing for it somehow or am I the only one studying like crazy about 6 hours a day on my summer holiday? 🙂 :D
And for those who have ever applied, could you tell me how was it? ^^

Hi!!!!! I am new too and planning to take Monbukagakusho exam next year. Though, I can't really start studying yet because I have SPM haha, owh, how did you study the maths and japanese? :D haha i need help >< xD hehe

Okay, I want to study Medicine in Japan but after finishing it, I wanna try and go to USA and work there. Is it possible to do USMLE along your regular studies?

And a big question is ?????

Okay, I want to study Medicine in Japan but after finishing it, I wanna try and go to USA and work there. Is it possible to do USMLE along your regular studies?

How advanced is your ability to read , write , and speak Japanese?

窶堋ェ窶堙ア窶堙寂?堙ァ窶堙ィ窶堙懌?堋オ窶堙・窶堋、窶堋ゥツ!

I applied for the first time this year and wasn't selected for interview for postgraduate study. However I am determined to re-apply next April (2012)! So I have been advised to put the six degrees of separation theory into practice and get in-touch individuals who are also applying.

Please add me, my skypeid is; mr_out_side

This thread is nice. I really learned a lot. I am planning to apply for MEXT research scholarship next year. This thread is helping me a lot to prepare myself. Best of lucks to all of us : )

Hey guys, do you know what are the best universities in Japan to study economics?

Hi! Is there anyone(in this forum)who applied for ADB-JSP scholarships 2012?
When ADB is going to declare the final results?

There is a list of 30 universities i think called Global 30? These unis are those selected by MEXT to welcome foreign students so they have English programs. You can Google it and you'll see it :)

Yeah that's really cool! I'm planning to apply MEXT Scholarship for Undergrad next year.
I also have heard about G30, the universities had come to my city and held and Expo there, I really really want to go studying in Japan, especially in Kyushu University, since they got English program for Bioresource Faculty, the one I planned to apply. The only concern was;

"Do MEXT give the same stipend for those who applied for English-languange programs?"

Or they give different amount of it? It's important for me because I can't afford to study in Japan without a full scholarship (living cost included)

There are many more reasons why I'm desperately want to go to Japan, but for now, I'm curios about that question.

Did anyone know about this? :D

Thanks a lot!!^^🙂

Hey guys, I am also in the undergraduates group.
How is everyone doing?

Btw, what are you planning to choose for your field of study?

I'm also planning to take Undergraduate :) Ganbatte ne! Fight together for the scholarship!!!👍

I want to take Biology, spesifically, Ecology and Applied Bioscience

@ Leonidas: Cool, I'm studying by myself also, and 'unofficially' attending classes at the Philological University (even though I'm not a student there, it's not exactly illegal to listen to lectures) - I've been learning for about an year or so, but at a pretty slow pace, but recently I've gotten more accustomed to doing it every day.
What is your method ?

Anyway, minasan, my name is Anastasia and I'll be applying for the research student scholarship next year too (in the field of Fine Arts). I'm currently browsing through universities and having trouble deciding what my study field and plan should be. I finished a BA in Fine Arts, and am currently on my second year of master studies- so my question is:
I obviously wont be graduated yet when the first MEXT deadline comes, so do I apply with my BA diploma, and provide additional papers explaining my status and maybe my grades so far? And a warm snugly promise that I'll be finishing my MA in time?
Anyone else out there applying for the fine arts research scholarship?

@Anastasiak: Look at page 1. I am using Anki SRS for learning kanji and sentences. Looking at japanese movies with jp subtitles, listening to music/radio There is also nice web AJATT .com with motivation articles and many many ideas how to improve and learn japanese without too much effort.
I could aplly even thoug I ended my school in June, but I applied for undergraduate scholarship. Look in your application guide or ask your embassy.

Also planning to apply for next year's MEXT as a research student! Goodluck to us all. :) 🙂

HI GUYS!!! I REALLY WANT TO STUDY IN JAPAN NEXT SCHOOL YEAR (2012-YEAH) . xD

can you help me a bit please? i would just like to ask what other scholarship programs can i apply to aside from jap gov scholarship. it's because the application period for the jap gov scholarship has already ended. Hm.. please help me!! Thanks! :D

I've downloaded ANKI, and tried it out. It's a neat little program, I'll be using it. I'm currently learning by reading raw manga, and looking up every kanji I don't know in the denshi jisho, writing it down with all it's readings, meanings and common uses. It's a slow and sometimes annoying process, but it's working for me.
😌

You could Google for: "Scholarships for Study in Japan-JASSO".

There are also numerous private scholarships from companies and public organizations that offers scholarship. As far as I know, there are lots of scholarships that you can only apply in Japan.

I think most of the scholarship for the 2012 term will be over already. You can always apply for MEXT scholarship again next year.

Hello people, I wonder what are your biggest concerns about the whole process of getting the recommendation for the scholarship? I myself will try to get embassy recommendation and I'm worried about the interview the most...
How about you all?

I'm a bit nervous about the preliminary test. I heard that's really hard

Hey guys :-)
Anyone applying for the 2013 research scheme?
Just wondering, has anyone already tried getting in touch with potential supervisors?

hello guys, i want someone to help about study in japan, i graduated from the institute since year 2008, and now i'm 24 years, i want to study in a college of technology, now i want to know if can I apply for MEXT scholarship 2013 ?

Hey guys, Im from Brazil here and I also will probably be applying for the 2013 ( my case will be undergrad). I was wondering something, is the recomendation letter and the high school transcripts only useful to get the embassy recomendation? Do the japanese government look only at the test results or also at your submited documents? I ask this because I've seen the realease for the 2012 scholarship here in my embassy and the only thing that they asked for is the high school transcripts ( they dont mention recommendation letters, toefl results or anything else).
Thank you
