Please, guys, I need your help.................. I can't believe no one has heard of such a famous singer ((Matsubara Miki))......at least you will know more than me about her so please try to locate her and send me her address or contact number................it has been more than 25 years since I saw her for the last time and I like to see how she is now..................... Onegai shimasu............help me, please.

Not sure if you'll ever see this since it's been about 6 months since you posted, but Matsubara Miki passed away on October 7th of this year from uterine cervical cancer. I didn't know her personally like you seemed to, but I came to know of her after hearing a song she composed for the animation "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory" called "The Winner". I'm listening to it as I type this actually. Sorry to be the one to tell you, if you didn't already know.

It was confirmed that Matsubara Miki passed away on October 7th of cancer.I read that Various news outlets like Yomiuri Online and Asahi.com are just now reporting that singer/songwriter Miki Matsubara passed away on October 7th at the age of 44. She had been fighting uterine cervix cancer for 3 years.

Matsubara debuted in Japan with the song "Mayonaka No Doa ~Stay With Me" ("Midnight Door ~Stay With Me") in 1979, which went on to sell over 300,000 copies. She later sang most of the themes for the 1987 Dirty Pair movie (aka "Project Eden"). She was best known to Gundam fans as the singer of Gundam 0083's first opening theme, "The Winner" (and its English version, "Back To Paradise"), as well as the composer of the second opening, "Men Of Destiny", and Last Blitz Of Zeon's "True Shining".

I was shocked as the late singer was my Ex-girlfriend and lover for more than three years, from 1978-1981 when I graduated from Japan University. She was one of the most fabulous ladies I knew, and she was so kind and loving and a very hard-working singer who climbed to the top with her endless efforts.

I here convey my great condolences to her family, friends, and fans in Japan and pray for her to rest in peace. God bless her soul. I still love you, Miki and will love you for the rest of my life.

Are you aware of how famous she got recently? Such a shame that happened almost 20 years after she passed away...

Thank you for sharing those pictures. They're fantastic!!

It's nice to see people finding this thread
It's incredible to see Shamco's appeal nearly 20 years ago now still sitting here on the same website. He reached out just after her passing in a poignant twist of fate, looking for a lost love that was 23 years past at that point. Now here we are all this time later with Shamco sharing a view into this life that the world knows so little about. It's quite special. It sounds like Shamco has lived quite a life too. Lucky man!

I really urge Mr. Fahd (Shamco) to reply to this thread, as more and more people finding this thread they really want to know more about Mr. Fahd

When I don't reply it means I am either travelling or busy but I trust you will reply as you are the most loyal member of this thread

I'll show my loyalty when I reach Japan. Now I just don't want this thread to go silent as it was before for last 18 years. There will be no one to reply if it goes silent again.
BTW you can post your thoughts once in a while.
I keep reminding myself to come to this tread to post whatever I feel, but sometimes I forget too....

Sure I will do when I am free. Thanks for keeping this thread alive

Fahd,
I just read your threads. Thank you so much for sharing those lucky memories. I am one of numerous loyal fans of Miki Matsubara and I am very happy to hear directly from people who personally knew her very well. A big part of Miki's life and career remains a mystery and you would be a light for its every growing loyal fan base.
Maybe you would share your story broadly someday ? If you are ok with that, I think it would be very valuable.
Thank you again Fahd !

I've highlighted my relationship earlier on this thread. Kindly review it. Thanks

Hey Tonaka,
Welcome to this thread, I just found Mr. Toshiro Miyawaki's profile on Twitter and other platform. He is the one who performed live with Miki San in Howa Howa Showa Showa, Stay with me and other live songs. You might drop message on his profile to know more. He's a popular guitarist in Japan with regular youtube uploads and other social media posts

Thank you very much. I have seen some live music on this YT playlist; it is exciting. Mr Toshiro Miyawaki must have a lot to share about DrWoo.

I have searched but found no trace of recorded live performances after 1990.

Fahd,
May I ask you this question? In your later correspondence, did Miki Matsubara mention something about her musical activity with the Dr Woo band?
Thank you again, Fahd. We hope you are well.
Thomas

In the 1990s she got disconnected from many people and may have concentrated on her live performance, but her last live performance is from 1990. Mr Fahd knew only in her college days and may have met a few times in the 1980s. You should ask Mr Toshiro Miyawaki about her 1990s. Mr Toshiro Miyawaki should know more about her.

Hope you have read the other thread created by Shamco. There are 2 threads created by Shamco about Miki San

Yes true, I was with her almost one year before she sang her greatest song Stay With Me and we continued our relationship up to end of 1982 but visited her few times during after that but didn't know anything about her after 90s as she got married then.
