I just got into MM and they are so awesome. I need to buy CD's though >.> Which should I get first? What's the best?
Merveilles, as their only major album, of course has higher production and sounds a little smoother. Merveilles is a very 'poppy' kind of CD, compared to their other albums, Bara no Seidou, Voyage sans Retour and Memoire. It has Illuminati, Bel Air, Ju te Veux, Gekka no Yasoukyouku, etc., basically the most popular Gackt songs.
Voyage is far more romantic sounding, with soft instruments and pretty much nothing hard that I can remember. Think Madrigal, Ma Cherie, AndthatothersongthatIcan'trememberrightnow. I didn't like Voyage as much as the other ones, but that's just me - soft music is okay but in moderation.
Bara no Seidou is 'gothic' sounding. Harpischords, organs, bells ringing, etc. Klaha does the vocals on this one, and boy is his voice beautiful ;_;
Bara no Seidou actually has very little vocals, I think there's only about 3-4 songs on there, if that, with Klaha singing in them. Most are instrumental, since this CD was probably largely recorded while they were still vocal-less, since Gackt had left a year and some earlier. Shiroi Hada ni Kuruu Ai to Kanashimi no Rondo is the best song on here (IMO). It also contains Kyomu no Naka Dennou Yuugi, Saikai no Chi to Bara (I may be wrong here), and some other songs which are very beautiful but my memory has failed me at the moment and refuses to produce the names of.
Memoire has Tetsu on vocals. Wild, wild Tetsu. =P
You probably won't like it, so I'll just tell you one thing: Baroque rules, so if you get Memoire, make sure to get Memoire DX - it has Baroque as a bonus track.
