The other day I watched the 2003 film Lost in Translation by Sophia Coppola. At one point in the film, a tv advert is being recorded and the triangular communication in English-Japanese-English between the tv director, the has-been actor character played by Bill Murray, and the interpreter/translator on the studio set is not subtitled. The humour comes from the actor's brief question about the direction he's been given by the tv director and the director's and translator's long responses. I would be interested to know if anyone could supply the Japanese characters' dialogues...
