I am doing a project at my school about the country of Japan. I need someone who is from Japan to answer some questions about the culture.

Do you discuss politics? Describe the politics in your country. (two party systemﾂ―compare it to the US)

Is poverty a problem they are concerned about? How do people address it? Are their non-profits who work on poverty relief like in the U.S.?

What do you value? What types of things do you like to do?

• Greetingsﾂ―what is the proper way to greet someone? How and when should you do it? Is there a difference between greeting someone young and someone old?

• Personal spaceﾂ―what is considered the proper distance that you should stand away from someone when speaking to him or her? Some cultures it is very close, while others expect a couple arms length.

• Physical contactﾂ―is it appropriate to shake hands? What about giving a friend a hug in public? What about married couples who show affection in public? Is this frowned upon?

• Eye contactﾂ―is it appropriate to make eye contact with a stranger? What about eye contact with someone of the opposite sex? What about eye contact in conversations or group settings?

• Dressﾂ―what is the cultural norm for dress? Are there different standards for men and women? Do women wear pants? What about shorts?

• Respectﾂ―are there certain ways that elders or leaders are shown respect?

• Gender attitudesﾂ―what are the attitudes about women? How do you show respect to both genders?

• Loudnessﾂ―is it expected to speak softly to others and in public or is being boisterous acceptable?

Way too much information for a typical Japanese (or any nationality)! Many of these things you could find on Google. This "survey" is basically asking someone to write your paper for you.

I guess I should have explained a little better. I am just sort of in a haze at this time. I am doing a project on the country Japan and we have to interview someone from Japan to give a better perspective on the country. Those last questions I don't need answered really, the ones about greetings, personal space, etc...I really just need someone from Japan to give honest answers about their personal experience/opinions.

The paper I am writing has nothing to do with these topics. I understand if someone doesn't want to answer my questions. I am just trying to use whatever resource I could find to find someone to help me out. I had a few people who fell through at the last moment, so I am trying.

I dont see how can you derive from this

Look, none of that is going to do anything. It tells a specific couple of points about one person then shotguns questions you could answer with little googling effort. What is the freaking point of the paper and just how long is it supposed to be? HS or college?

What kind of "perspective" are you looking for? My mother-in-law, coworkers of various ages, dentist, wife's relative in the military, my university students, any rock star, and Prime Minister would all give different answers.

If the paper you are writing has "nothing to do with these topics", why the heck are you asking them??!!??

Think the OP forgot to paste the questions with the bullet points which they don't need for the paper.

Either way its probably just some paper in which you have to interview someone as a source, and then write from that. I remember doing those. It was usually along the lines of interview your grandparents, or someone of their age, about their childhood; then compare and contrast with your own. I never had to interview someone from a foreign country though.
