Looking for a friend in Japan

I am looking for a friend that lives in Japan. I know know is her name and birth date. I also have a picture of her if that helps any.

My question is this. Is there some kind of directory I can use to look her up. Is there something like facebook or myspace that is for Japanese people I can use?

If you know how to write her name, it should be relatively easy to find her as long as she has a presence online. If not, you're going to have a much harder time.
