My yellow cheese has the smell of a cat.

my friend and i was debateing about this...we think this is 100%...WRONG! lol

can u tell me the right way?

I'm probably wrong, but I think it's something like "my cheese wa cat no you ni nioimasu."

you can use "____ no nioi ga suru" to say something smells like something.

So for your example, it'd be "watashi no kiirori chiizu wa neko no nioi ga suru"

which would be "My yellow cheese smells like a cat"

Cheese ha cat no you na nioi ga shimasu" is better translated my cheese smells as if it were (like it were) a cat. Not wrong exactly, just awkward and not necessary to compare the two nouns in this case.

moof, are you saying my sentence says "My yellow cheese smells likea cat"? if so, that good. in my dictionary there was only smell as a noun, so i though that you would be better as the smell of.... so is it right? if not, or w/e what does it mean>
