Kennin in Kanji

Hi there,

There's a bit of an odd question I've got...
My nick, Kennin, is a little word play.
It's either "sword hiding" (剣忍) or "sword man" (剣人).
Now I'd like to make a logo out of it, so I wanted to combine these two kanji into one. Unfortunately I couldn't find one single kanji where both parts were used, so I made one up myself.

The questions I have now:

1. Is this possible?
2. Would it still be pronounced "nin"? I suppose it would since the radical is "nin"...
3. Does this or any other combination of these two kanji already exist?

Sure it's possible. I wouldn't count on it getting added to the 当用漢字 though.

2. Would it still be pronounced "nin"? I suppose it would since the radical is "nin"...

Seeing as you've just made it up it can be pronounced throat-warbler-mangrove if you want.

3. Does this or any other combination of these two kanji already exist?

Well the WWWJDIC multi-radical kanji lookup would seem to be your best bet to check but the answer seems to be not in Japanese. Chinese has hanzi to spare ;-)

Depends what you want to use it for ...

- Forum avatar or for RPG character sheet = By all means.
- Tattoo or change of legal name = Are you nuts?

I don't know how likely it is people will 'get the joke' rather than just think it's a mistake but I don't think you're going to offend anybody by it.

It is intended as a word play. I wouldn't change my name, lest be that I'd ever mutilate my body by tattoos, sorry bout the confusion.
I'd use it for my signature on my website only.
That I won't insult anyone is quite clear as well.
