The cause of death isn't officially known, but they're saying it's a heart attack. I was completely unaware that he had any problems. I always remembered him as playing hard, especially in the game in Mexico in which he played with an IV and ate a Snickers bar to help him get through it. I must say that this is a bit of a shock to me. Read about it on FoxSports's website.

He died about 2 weeks ago right? Sorry, but the only thing I remember now is his admitting to using steroids when he won MVP honors while at San Diego! He was a good player, but was it natural ability or drugs?

Wow, you have him dead before he died! :D:D

the article said:
The 1996 National League MVP, who later admitted using steroids during his major league career, died Sunday. He was 41.

As for whether it was the drugs or natural ability, well, the drugs probably helped, but he had to be able to play first. Who knows just how much drugs help ability?

Oh ok hes a baseball player

next to die, Barry Bonds hahahahaa

Whoa, that's probably crossing the line. Calling "next to die" is just morbid, and it seems insensitive to me.

By the way, it occured to me that maybe the smilies were inappropriate. I didn't mean to make fun of the death of someone, but the misunderstanding. I hope it didn't come off as offensive to anyone.

it maybe too harsh, but he did destroy the game of baseball but taking enhancement drugs. If he ever do get into the baseball hall of fame, hes prolly a disgrace to Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and etc.

Well, you have a point with that. Of course, it's never been proven that Barry Bonds has taken steroids that I'm aware of. I know a lot of people have accused him of it, but I don't think it's never been proven.

Yea, I know. He has well over 700 homers. I dont think the media or law are gonna destroy his reputation.

Well, I'm an idiot. Yeah, so it sure sounded like it was today. But anyway, sorry about that. Wow... 😊😌

I thought so, I remember reading about it when it happened. But I wasn't going to argue with you! I have been wrong before! :)

Yeah, well, there's nothing quite like humility, eh? :D:D I must say that was quite embarrassing. To plead my case, though, I had just seen a feature on it on ESPN and it seemed like it had just happened. I didn't even think to check the date on the article that I linked to. :banghead: 😊

The reason it was fresh in the news, is that they did an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Everyone was so surprised that he died at only 41!

The original CNN death notice implied it might have been a heart attack brought on by cocaine after his treatment a few years ago in Texas. :(
