Karera, otokanokotachi and ottokanohitotachi usage

I understand otokanokotachi is for boys, ottokanohitotachi, is for men and Karera is for a group of males. But am I right that you also use them if it's any mixed group(as well as using the ages accordingly)?

I think you have some spelling errors
otokonoko (or otoko-no-ko)
otokonohitotachi → this is kind of an unusually long and contains a redundancy (otoko are also hito, so to double-down on this in one word is unusual). Probably better to say otoko-tachi, depending on the context.
Karera is just "them" or "those guys", so its OK to use if the "them" group is clear from the context.

Otoko-no-hito-tachi sounds more polite than otoko-tachi, so it's used in a situation where this nuance is needed.
