Kanji stamp

Hi there!
I got a little present which I like quite a bit! It's a little stamp with a kanji.
The odd thing is that there is a line in the kanji, which is curved twice. That makes it difficult for me to interprete what it might be.

Anybody able to help, please?
Unfortunately I can't scan. I drew the stamp rather accurately though. I made sure that the curved line is placed at the correct spot and the length is correspondingly to the original one.

Oh, by the way, I suspect it to be "末", but I am not sure.

It's probably some form of seal script - could also be 未 (e.g. The Ram)

could also be 朱? I showed it to a friend and that was his first impression, but he said 未 was also likely.

This is the 篆書体 (tenshotai) form of the character. See What are the different styles of Japanese lettering?. The only reference for character forms which I have is a book called 五体字類 and according to that it looks most like 朱 (page 251). The character form for 末 (page 250) has the U and the -- part interchanged, and the character form for 未 (also page 250) has two U shapes and no horizontal one:
