I know there are plenty of Japanese puns based on homophones, but I was wondering if there are any written puns that depend on reading one kanji character as two. For example, 校 could alternatively be read as 木交, if there was ever a context where both could make sense. Or, in vertical writing, 分 could be read as 八刀. Are there any such cases of dual readings, especially ones producing amusing or clever changes in meaning?

One of the most well-known ones would be 神 vs ネ申[ねもうす] (basically net slang or young people's diarect). Although ねもうす doesn't have any meaning.
Another example that came to my head is 旧中山道[きゅうなかせんどう] "the old Nakasendo Way". A new female announcer read this word as 1日中山道[いちにちじゅうやまみち] "(on) the mountain road all day long" in a TV show.
