Help Japanese Type 90 Helmet Translation

At the front of the helmet, I imagine it is an I.D., but it looks like a portion on the lower left has rubbed off so it may be difficult to decipher. At the side is either a white stain or painted symbol. At the rear inside flare is the "size large" symbol, stamped and painted; and what looks like a zero. If anyone can provide the meaning or use of these items I sincerely appreciate any help that can be offered - Thank you! ~ Mike @ HelmetWerks

The part below says "Hashimoto" (a surname - 橋本). The part next to that is scraped off, so I can't read it. I mean, it looks like the numeral three written in kanji (三) but I don't know if that is what it actually is, or if it just looks that way because some other bits are missing. We can assume the whole thing would be the owner's name.
The 大 0 is probably some number that indicates size.
