Japanese TV on the net?

Here is kind of an "out there" question, but the idea crossed my mind if this existed so I had to ask.

I know there are some sites that have TV stations in real time through the internet or some medium like real player. I have only heard of them, never really looked or tried them to see if they are worth it though.

Is there such a thing for Japanese TV? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested in this if it was possible, as I don't have a sattelite hook up for my TV at home.

Anyone know if this exists, or where to look?

live, streaming or recorded TV or Radio is something totally unheard of in japan.

They have NHK but they don't have the service of the BBC
Nearly every radio station in the UK is online, and you can pay to watch TV online.

I have been to one or two japanese sites that have recordings, heres an anime channel (isao has lots of "channels" but nothing live) http://www.isao.net/ibb/bandai/bandai_st.cgi

personally, I'd say that you're not missing out. japanese TV only has cookery programs 24/7

Try Winamp. Get winamp 5.0 then go to file, internet tv, there is anime and like station that shows images of Tokyo. IF u have an older version of winamp go to media player then choose internet tv. There is also internet raido, they have anime and jpop songs. Give it a try.

I think eventually all TV will be accessable by the Net...just a question of when, I think?

yep i would have recommended winamp if duo hadn't already. needless to say your connection has to be able to handle it. ive got a fairly fast connection but unfortunately not fast enough for most internet tv.
