yesterday I received an email from Hokkaido daigaku about a dorm so that means that there is a high chance of me going there
Congrats!! Hokkaido must be a nice place to spend a year!
August does seem super later but don't stress too much, two of my classmates who got the scholarship last year and the year before that started their exchange in early October or so.
Still no results in India... started to worry. Anybody here still has'nt got results ? :nailbiting:
Yeah, we'll have to wait a little more ,i think! A day feels like month ! Let's hope for the best.I haven't gotten the results yet either... I'm starting to worry too, but it's relieving to know that I'm not alone! It's difficult because there's a lot to do/people to contact right when I know, but time keeps ticking on by without a word from the embassy.
I wish i could get university's mail just like you before mext even declares the result.Waiting and hoping for BesttEven though 2 of the 4 people over herheard something from their nr 1 university in Japan, we still haven't received a message from the embassy yet... so we also still don't know anything.. We just have to wait and hope
Hi all, I've applied from Boston and I'm waiting for my results too!!
I'm really hoping I find out soon. I've been making arrangements to go to Japan through another program as a backup in case MEXT falls through. That program starts at the end of August and I feel like I can't finalize arrangements for it because I'm hoping for the MEXT scholarship to work out! (I haven't been able to buy a plane ticket for the other program or submit my visa paperwork, etc...)
I did get an email from Hosei a couple weeks back, though, asking about housing, so I've got my fingers crossed!!
Anyways, good luck to everyone!
If the hosei daigaku actually asked you about the housing i think they are planning to accept you
Ohh , 了解。Did'nt know about that one.Hello and welcome!
We will probably know something about the university placement in the next two or three weeks, according to past years threads on this forum.
Since you received the email from Hosei Daigaku it means you passed the second screening, so your local embassy should have sent you an email notifying you about it. This means that you are going to get the scholarship, but it is still not sure to which university you (or any of us at the moment) will be sent, and it might be one you didn't choose in the application! So don't worry about your plan B, you won't need it.
Every applicant who chose Hosei Daigaku as their first choice received the email about the university housing, and that doesn't mean they are planning on accepting anyone, as pointed in the mail itself. Please don't write misleading replies, because this thread will probably be used as reference by next year applicants.

Your are not supposed to apply for any other Japanese government scholarship, as per their rules and guidelines. Because that may make you ineligible and even might lead to cancel your scholarship. So I suggest you don't rely on the other one because this (Japanese studies) scholarship gives you a better chance than any other scholarship. So patience is the key. That program starts at the end of August and I feel like I can't finalize arrangements for it because I'm hoping for the MEXT scholarship to work out! Nobody is "misleading" anyone here. It Happens, bro. He might have figured that part out later, of the university not guaranteeing a seat. We are all trying to cheer everyone up here. No offencePlease don't write misleading replies, because this thread will probably be used as reference by next year applicants.
I thought you weren't allowed to apply for other things if you're applying for MEXT. Our embassy told us to drop other applications if we wanted MEXT.
Did any of you Hosei applicants get a similar mail like this?

Got my acceptance letter from Nanzan University (first choice), woohoo! :roflmao::cigar:
Today I received the acceptance letter from Hosei University, which was my first choice. I need to fill more forms identical to those I sent to the local embassy months ago saying why I want to study there and what I plan to do afterwards. Also, it looks like I must take an online placement test before the 10th of August, and that was completely unexpected, I thought that I would take that test in Japan. I haven't been studying japanese for 2 or 3 months now, since I'm preparing for my final exam. I hope I won't suck too much.
Congrats to you too! Yeah, I guess we'll meet at university in a month or soCongrats, I guess I'll see you in Hosei!
I thought we'd do it in Japan too, so I haven't studied or used Japanese at all these couple of months. I was gonna start doing it now in August, but I guess it's too late for that.

Congrats!! I just got my acceptance to Hosei yesterday as well!!! I can't wait to live in the center of Tokyo for an entire year!!
In the course guide it says that Hosei only accepted six MEXT students through embassy recommendation and two through university recommendation this year - so it's pretty cool that from around the world, at least three of us are all on the same forumLooking forward to meeting you both in September!
