japanese school system

I've some questions here about their school system.
i understand there are both public and private high schools in japan.for those who chose private ones,what are their reasons ,and are most of the students in private schools came from rich families?

after graduation from high schools,do MOST go to universities or less than 50% percent?
in which month of the year do they take entrance exams for the universities they want to go to?

actually, the public high schools are difficult to get into and the private school is a fall back plan..... there are tests which need to be taken and passed to get into public school (too many students..... not enough space) and if they don`t pass then they try for private..... some of the private schools are fairly low level.... this is not always the case, but I think most of the time students study hard to get in to public school...

there are technical high schools for students that aren`t going on to college.....
I don`t know that much about it but I am learning as I go... my oldest is 4th grade in elementary school.....

Some private schools have grades that go all the way from elementary school to I think even up to University. And they don't have to take entrance exams at all to advance. I forgot what they call these people. But there's an assumption that people who entered private schools are rich (it does take a lot of money to get in, of course).

so most of the kids who study in private high schools was because their grades are not good enough to enter the public ones
yes,i had read the link.but i'm surprised it stated only 40% went to university.Isn't it Most japanese kids "need" to go on to uni in order to secure a decent job or not being labelled as "useless" or scums or whatever?
nowadays,do japanese high school graduates prefer to work or continue studying?

anyway,i forgot about this question.u mentioned some private schools even have their own universities.so if this student who had graduated from this type of private school,can he choose to go to another uni?
in japan,are there famous high schools or only universities are consider important?
i'm a bit confused here.i just read a bit from the 2nd link that says employers rarely cares about education.I thought a japanese chance of getting the job depends highly on education level by the company?!

I know only about Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Meiji University and Waseda University. I heard something about female university - was it Rikku University?

People can of course change school or decide to go to any university they want, but few people would go to another uni than that of their school if they are lucky enough to be in a "all-in-one" institution, as there is no entrance exam within the same institution (and most Japanese loathe and fear entrance exams).

Ultimately, if you have been to university/college, only that degree matters and not so much your highschool.

That's right. What matters in the name of the university someone attended, and not really their results or subject (except for specialists, like lawyers or accountants). If yo didn't go to university, then I guess the name of your highschool is important too.

it is not necessarily true to say that public high schools are superior to private ones.
in tokyo or urban areas, many parents choose private junior high, elementary schools, or even kindergardens for their kids for their better education. This is because some people believe the quality of education in public ones has been deteriorated.
i don't think tokyo uni is the best one in japan, but accoriding to the data, the top 10 high schools for tokyo uni, all high schools except a few national ones are private ones. though the national high schools are public ones, but it is different from ordinary prefecture established schools and it is rather difficult to enroll them like other private ones.

some of japan's top universities are private ones,so it's not neccessary to say public ones are the best.
some of these unis have affiliated high schools where the students are guaranteed a place in its uni without taking entrance exams.so those failed in that high school can still go staight to the uni?
